If you're runing Vista, there is an issue with Orbi cam. It won't work on Acer 5000 series machines. Here's a link that may help. Read what it says and follow the directions. I know it says the drivers are for an Acer 9300, but it won't hurt your machine to try them, they just simply won't work. http://www.theacerguy.com/2007/05/29/acer-orbicam-fix/
If you're running XP you will need to reinstall the drivers. since you don't have the disc, try driverguide.com.
Acer Orbi Cam...yes, there have been many problems with this little cam, but below is the URL for you to copy and paste, then choose the driver......Orbi Cam http://support.acer-euro.com/index.html
Then choose driver downloads Choose your make and model, it will take you to the driver download pull down menu, choose your Operating system , either XP or Vista, then choose the Orbi Cam option. Download the driver, and install... Reboot your computer and try your Orbi..
Try to unplug and plug again the camera cable. it's under keyboard.
You have to open the power cover and remove keyboard screw, you can see the wire that connect to mainboard.
If this way don't work, try to uninstall the camera application and installed again, if this is still don't work, Reload the OS.
Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering technology Acer E-recovery - choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.
** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
