Requirements: windows xp, Vista, or higher
a computer with enough space for the below programs, and a USB cable
Motorola Flash and back up
Motorola RSD Light
Flash (*.shx) file
find the flash file you would like on your phone (I had used the I-Phone shx file)
Plug your phone into the computer
Start Flash and backup
this step is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT incase you BRICK your phone:
Back up your phone (boot loader and phone)
Start RSD Light (after back up is completed)
click show device
click the 3 dots next to the file name entry field
browse to the file you would like on your phone
hold down control key
select the new firmware (can keep the old firmware if you would like)
Your phone is now being flashed to your desired system that you selected.
depending on the shx file, this may take some time. once this step has been completed, you have a completely modified phone. if you want to modify the phone further, there are some seem editors that can be used (I tried p2k seem editor, that didn't work very well) and I had found another one, but I dont remember it's name.
Good luck, and as always, be careful.
thank you for taking the time to view this post. I hope it was helpful. email me if you would like more information (guest.user73 at gmail.com).

First of all, if you have a Razr v3 phone and would like
to unlock it, I would recommend reading this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/18/283892
by scabbins, which I think was originated from: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic43620.html
or perhaps from http://forums.mobiledia.com/cgi-bin/redirect.cgi?http://www.motox...
1. CellPhones have something like a Operating System,
and also a BootLoader, which loads the Operating System. You can view the
version of the Bootloader and the software(Operating System) of the phone by
holding down * # and pressing Power button when the phone is turned OFF.
2. You will often hear terms "Put the phone in
Flash" or "Flash the Phone". When they say put the phone in
Flash, it means, turn it off, hold down * # and press Power button. What
happens is that you will see text displaied on screen with the version of
bootloader and version of software( SW ).
3. After you read the above mentioned tutorials keep
some points in mind: First, If your Bootloader version ends on 26, and you use
the "Downgrader" software mentioned in tutorial, there will be a
point while running downgrader, when it will stop and tell you it is waiting
for phone. (This happened only once, when it was waiting for a while) what I
did is put the phone in flash mode manualy, that is I pressed * # and Power.
After doing so Downgrader continued working and finished sucessfully. After
putting the phone in Flash mode again, you will notice that now the Bootloader
version is 7D0.
*Note: Flashing a phone means reinstalling the System
software on it. "Flash the phone with "somefilename.shx" means
taking "somefilename.shx" file and using smartmoto(software) or RSD
Lite(software) to rewrite the system software with a new one contained in
Now, If you did everything the way tutorial suggested,
but The phone still tells you to "Contact Service Operator" be calm,
and dont start shooting neighnpours. I will consider you as an experienced user
from now on, and read how to make it work in next section:
Note: If you tried all that is saied in tutorial, and phone is
still locked, then you are in the same situation that I was. Here's what you
need to do: (by the way I found solution by reading all messages in http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic43620.html
so credit goes to guys there)
you will need to do this: 1. Downgrde bootloader if you have 26 version. 2. Install OLDER version of software(SW) on phone. ( Dummies,
this means Flushing the phone with old version
of .SHX file) I found those files on this site: http://www.planetmotox.net/monster_packs.php
and for the old version I used: R374_G_0E.40.79R_MOTOX.shx .
(Dummies notice, put the phone in flash mode, connect
the usb cable and flash the phone using smartmoto or any other software that
you prefer with the above mentioned file).
Important Note 1: After this phone might not reload (dummies,
I mean by this that you will not be able to start the phone as you did, you
will see a blank dark screen.
Do not panic, put the phone in flash mode again and run
the Unlocker mentioned in tutorial. This time it will work, but you still will
not be able to start(reload) phone.
I had the same problem with a phone that was donated -- user forgot the pin to unlock the phone. There is a way around this. You will need to reflash the phone. I used RSD Lite, which is a Motorola Utility for flashing their devices.
But first, you will need a flash file to overwrite the one on your phone that is associated with the pini code. To find an appropriate flash file, search for "ModMyMobile" which is a forum that has various Razr flash files. You will need to enroll, but its free.
Locate and download the appropriate .shx file and unzip to a directory on your computer that you can easily find.
Run RSD Lite and connect your Razr with a USB cable. The program should locate your phone and put it into bootloader mode... don't panic, it is supposed to. Now click on the "..." button up top, locate the unzipped .shx file and hit "Start".
It takes about 5 minutes to reflash and presto - you phone is working again! :-)
you can get updates and installations for your phone software here, they automatically load the drivers when you connect the phone to a usb port via the cable.
