My 3930 Jammed twice in a row, I pulled the paper out, and restarted it, but the status in the Printer Control Panel says 'Paper Jam'. I turned it on and off, and unplugged it and plugged it back in to no avail.

Samsung CLP-500 Laser printer keeps showing an error message ''Paper Empty Custom in MP'' even though there is paper in the tray.

It also indicates a paper jam in the top right hand compartment but I have checked all roller feeds and ther is no paper jammed .

    Any ideas

Exactly what does it do? If the paper is not leaving the tray, then most likely the feed rolls need either cleaned or replaced.
Try taking a cloth with some alcohol, or soapy cleaner such as fantastic and clean the rollers throughly. If that works for a while then the problem returns, the rollers are worn and in need of replacement,
If that's not what kind of jam you are experiencing, please provide more detail and I will pursue it further with you.
Phantom jam makes me think its just not feeding out of the tray, and there is a lot of slipping with those feed components

I had the same problem however; none of the suggested solutions helped. I solved the problem by- uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it again.

It is now working like a charm!

I had a phantom paper jam on my Canon Imageclass MF5550. I looked at the rollers and they looked brand new, no gunk, nothing. So, I tried more paper, then barely any paper in the tray. Neither one of those worked. THEN I noticed that the edge of the stack of paper was about 1/2 inch back from the normal front edge of the tray, but still being held down by the tabs on either side. I looked at the blue sliding plate that moves depending on how large your paper is and it was set to a slightly larger size paper, so the whole stack had been shifted back just a smidge so that the roller that picks up the paper was unable to grab the edge of the top sheet. I moved the slider back to 81/2 x 11 size paper and made sure the stack was all the way to the front of the tray and PRESTO!!! Geez, I felt kind of dumb, but maybe other people's size plate has been jostled out of position as well. Hope this helps SOMEONE!

Phaser 860 Phantom Jam Won't print until jam in

There is a solenoid on the transfix assembly that has a tendency to "stick" in the open position, causing paper jams at the exit. The Solenoid is located on the right side of the machine, at the top area in the middle. You can test it with your fingers to see if it sticks in the up position. If it is, simply clean the sticky residue off both metal surfaces with alcohol and it should return to normal operations.

Hp laserjet m3035 mfp does not take up the paper squeaks and reports paper jam - no papaer is jammed

The most common cause of this type of Phantom paper jam is worn pickup rollers and separation pads in the paper trays. When these rollers get worn the gripping surface can not grab the paper correctly so no paper is fed into the printer and the printer gives the paper jam error. The rollers are very easy to replace, it takes about 20 minutes total. Here is a link to more information about the roller maint kit:

How do I clear a "phantom" paper jam?

Are you a techy person? The reason I ask is sometimes these phantom jams are caused
by a sensor that is not seated properly and may require disassembly. Anyhow, if you have tried
to blow can air and tried reseated the paper then maybe its the sensor. Usually a disassembly
is required to reseat the sensor assembly is required. Get your hands on a schematics for
your model before attempting.

Can I get any technical info on the sensors related to paper jams?

what info are you looking for? these usually jam in the fuser, or the jams happen when the feed sections are not working and the paper never makes it out of the tray, then it will seem to be "phantom jams" but the jam sensors rarely go bad.
