Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Protect mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.
When in protection mode the unit will not start.
That means that there is an internal fault.
Try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes. Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection. Unplug also all other cables. Then restart the main unit with two speakers only.
