Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook

No sound through HDMI cable to hd Tv

Dv7-1267cl
ati graphics , amd turion chipset
I've tried changing the the options in playback devices , hdmi is available and it says sound is working , but it does not.
if I connect another hp laptop, the sound works fine.
I worked fine on this one as well until I did a system restore
I've read through as many solutions as I can find, and I refuse to do a system restore , since that is what caused the problem.
I need the tv as a second display as a teaching aid.
next time I won't buy hp.
the hardware will be due for an upgrade soon

I wanna connect my laptop(lenovo G450) to samsung series 4 lcd through hdmi cable

Hello,

A HDMI cable can output both audio and video, whilst some computer with Windows XP cannot automatically switch to HD Audio output as Windows 7 can. Thus manual setup can solve the problem.

After connecting the HDMI cable, Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Sounds and Audio Devices", double-click "Sounds and Audio Devices. Select "Audio" tab on "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" window.

On "Sound playback", change "Default device" from "Conexant HD Audio output" to "NVDIA High Definition Audio".

Your television should have several HDMI ports, select the appropriate HDMI port number and check if TV is not muted.

Hope this helps.

How to connect HDMI cable with CPU?

What you can try is getting an ATI/AMD HD Radeon graphics card which, when using their adaptor, will give you graphics and sound using an HDMI cable. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270286 This is a dvi to hdmi adaptor and will hook to the graphics card and your tv.Let me know if I can help you more.

Hopefully you are getting your latest graphics driver and Catalyst Control from AMD. If you know how to do a custom uninstall of VGA and Catalyst, then a custom install of VGA and Catalyst;

You should really try to limit switching the cables and definately do your switching with system off or you will mess up your resolution. If you can use your existing HDMI cable for your PS3, you can get an ATI HDMI to DVI adaptor and you will get the sound also out of your DVI output. The connector is $5.00 and you will need an additional HDMI cable. This will be your best bet especially if you have more than 1 HDMI input on your tv. I am absolutely positive this will work for you. You can get the adaptor here #6141054300G;

When i connected hdmi cable from dell lap to panasonic viera lcd tv only picture is comming no sound comming why plz advice me.

Check your graphics card control panel in the TV out setting and look for a setting to allow sound to be passed trough the HDMI cable.
You could also try changing your default sound output. 1. Right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar 2. Select 'Playback Devices' 3. In the playback tab it will show you devices that are capable of putting out sound from your laptop 4. Look for a device that will output sound from the HDMI port. 5. Click on the device then click the 'set Default' button. Sound should then be going trough the HDMI cable to your TV.

LG 42PX4DV - HDMI Audio / PC Audio IN problem

I found the fix. Had the same problem.
I right clicked on the sound speaker icon in the bottom right of Windows 7.
Chose Playback Devices.
Once this window opens, then make sure you are on the Playback tab.
Scroll down until you see the HDMI Device. (Mine was hidden at the bottom of the list.)
Then choose "set as default".
The sound will begin playing on the TV with only the HDMI connected......no need for an extra audio cable.
