Probably it is out of space ...or it has programs or tasks in advance that will need more space ..so you have to make room ...anyway just disconnect the hdd and connect it to a computer ...save all you need from it into and delete all that you do not need...after that if it still wants this task to be performed..you will already have the things saved ....and you can do that without problems ...
the thing it is happening sometimes just cause it do not sees it proper or ..it is in error..so ..if you need teh data on it ..save them in another place into a computer or on disks...and let it do the job...if it will still ask for this task to be performed after you make space on the hdd....
I suggested to connect it to a computer cause sometimes after this is initiated will not let you delete files until you do what it asks...

    I see
it has to have at least a cable for a usb connection ...take a look
if you do not have such a cable let me know what kinda hdd it is exactly to see the way it is connected now ...and what should you do ...
anyway try to get into it without put it on the computer ..and make some space by deleting what you do not need...and after that lets see if the task you were talking about is still asked for ..

I have LG 32LC2RR LCD and a lot of problems with it: 1) When start to work, there are no sound but verry bad, loud, terrible sound(khhhrrrckkrkrrrkk) 2) I can not formate HDD! LCD can't record!...

hello and I got the same problem and solve it as I put a small hard drive HITACHI 40 GB. then your TV formats it alone. I put the disc in its original computer and deleted a partition, then created a new fat32 partition and format the drive with partition Magic.
. after being assured that no disk errors and put the second disc on my computer. I used norton ghost and clone HITACHI seagate disc on the disc. never mind one that is less than the other. importantly, the small disc was recorded right information and transfer it to large.

the whole thing was a big obstacle. after its original disk formatted TV stopped initialize it strange is because of the Hitachi drive was installed Linux and TV recognized it without problems and I formatted it alone. may have been lucky not know
.

CANNOT FORMAT THE HDD

The HDD on this set is a SATA drive. It connects directly to the main board on the set. You can take the drive out of the set and format it on your PC, if it formats then replace the main board. If it will not format replace with a SATA drive of similar size.

42LC2DR

You need to press the button on the top right of the control ( the TV button) once and that will allow you to control the tv once again. Problem occurs when you accidently push VCR or DVD button which means remote control will try a different frequency to operate a VCR or DVD that isn't there. Hope this helps.
