I have been using my CanonScan LiDE 70 on the laptop. The laptop died. I am trying to use the scanner with another computer but have lost the original software disc that came with the scanner. The new computer (equipped with Vista) did an internet search and downloaded lide70vst641210ea14us. The scanner reacts when the computer powers up but nothing happens when I push the PDF button.
Hi there from Germany - English isn't the best but got the same problem solved so give it a try:
- first connect scanner to computer without having the drivers already installed - next computer claims driver cd put in yours from XP or select downloaded XP-driver - reboot - try if scanner works - sometimes they do already - if not head over to System management or system control what it's called in english - choose add device and choose scanner - now Windows tries to install a xerox-driver - allow this - reboot -
and now it should work - if not sue hp! (But buttons for direct
printing etc. might not be working anymore - except via the software
itself - no more via the buttons
Very simple: download from Mustek site ONLY VPDriver.exe. Then open it and store files in a directory. Open Hardware directory on System properties, locates the unistalled item related to USB scanner, select reinstall drivers and point to the directory previous. Vista locate drivers, intall them and our scanner runs correctly with all programs (ex. OpenOffice Draw, etc). Try it ...
