Turn on radio - the word SAFE will appear in the display. Press th P.SCAN and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000" lights up in the display.Release buttons.Do not, under no circumtances, continue holding them down or press them once again. Use station buttons 1,2,3,and 4 to enter the code number from your Radio Card. Use the button 1 to enter the first number 2 for the second number 3 for the third number and 4 for the last number.Once you have entered the code and it shows on the display, press the P.SCAN and RBDS buttons down again simultaneously and hold them down until the word SAFE appears in the display.Release buttons. Soon afterwards a frequency will be displayed.

Contact a subaru dealer for assistance and if they need s/n off the stereo, then remove it yourself and save the diagnostics fee. If they want to charge for the code, search the web for free anti-theft code information or use radio-code.com

To reset , leave SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for up to 24 hours
The only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.
(There are usually two barcodes on one label. The one required is the lower one )
If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding

For our Toyota Prado 2001 01, after the battery had been removed SEC was
showing on the cd / tape / radio display. To remove the security SEC
warning, find the last 3 digits of your VIN number (under the hood) hold
down the "TUNE" button and then press "1"
Then use the numbers 1 2 and 3 to type in the last 3 digits of your VIN number.
Quickly hold down "SCAN" button, the radio will power off, then press the volume button to turn it back on.
-I accidentally held down "auto" before holding down scan, I don't think auto has any part of fixing this (just an error on my part) but if the above doesn't work, you could try hold AUTO down after entering the digits then hold scan - just as I did.
Hopefully SEC has now been removed, enjoy your radio!
