Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I bought a new laptop (sony vaio w) and it is 2 days old. it just went off and wont go on again. i have tried charging it, removing the battery and have tried switching it on with the battery off but the power cable on as advised but still nothing. some one has told me that its a ram problem. how do I establish the problem?? I live in Kenya, Africa and we dont have sony service centres so I would have to return it to the states if i cant figure it out.

Sony vaio laptop shutting down while plugged in

If it's left on for a period of time, specified by the power settings, it will dim the display, Hibernate, Sleep, etc. In the Control Panel, Power settings, Advanced Power setting , Change to High Preformance, adjust Hibernate and Sleep to Never, adjust advanced power setting to your specs. Shut down and unplug laptop , remove battery, when not in use, if you use on AC most of the time remove battery.

Sony vaio vgn-nr285E battery won't hold a charge

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My sony vaio charger is got pulled out one day by kids running around, and when I went to plug it back in it would only work if i have it a certain way. I went out and bought a universal charger that said...

You mentioned that when you plugged in back the charger, it worked if you try moving it right? chances are, the problem could be with the charging pin itself of the laptop. there might be a loosening due to the sudden pulling out of the charger..

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-661L I shut it down and it won't restart

do you get any leds when charger is inserted? if yes, try to remove battery, insert charger and press power on. also, i would recommend you test the output of your charger using a multimeter to rule out the possibility of a faulty charger.

Easynote r1004 wont power on

The battery is too low and the power supply can't charge the battery and also power the laptop at the same time.

Try this:
1. Remove the battery from the laptop
2. Plug in the power cord and turn ON the laptop.
3. It should work ok.
4. After the laptop is "stable" (what 5 minutes?), you can put the battery back into the laptop while it is ON.
5. Leave the laptop ON so the battery can get charged.
6. Lower / close the lid so that the screen will turn OFFand not take up power from recharging the battery.

If this doesn't work for you, try these steps again, maybe wait a few minutes between steps.

This WILL work!

Hope this helps!
