SOURCE: No decimal display on TI BA-II calculator

Your BA II PLUS stores numeric values internally to an accuracy of 13 digits. However, the numbers it displays depends on the number of decimal places to which you have it set (choice of 0–9 or floating decimal). To set the number of decimal places displayed to three: hit [2ND][FORMAT][3][ENTER]This setting also continues indefinitely (even though the calculator is turned off and on) until it is changed.

It is probably the flat wire. Try taking it apart and resetting the wire connections.

My BA II plus professional showing wrong answer while computing "N" during TVM calculation


Make sure you have P/Y set to 1 and BGN/END set to END. With those settings, pressing 9 I/Y 9 2 0 FV 1 0 0 +/- PMT CPT N should produce 7.00 .

The TI BA-II Executive Business Analyst (maybe not your model) has a key labeled FIX. It is in the middle of the topmost row of keys. Press the FIX key followed by the number of decimal digits you want.

How do u make BA II plus financial calculator to not round up the numbers?


Press 2nd [FORMAT] and select the number of digits you want to the right of the decimal point or 9 for floating, which displays the non-zero digits. Be aware that if the number has more than ten digits then it will round to ten digits.

I have an old TI BA-II (not Plus) I need to reset it to the "FIN" mode


This procedure is valid for The TI BA II (executive Business Analyst). Press [2nd][FIX] to access the (MODE) setting. As you execute the key sequence [2nd][FIX] the Mode change cycle s between FIN STAT and the regular computational mode.

Rounding up


By default the BA-II Plus displays two digits to the right of the decimal point, for dollars and cents. To change the number of digits, press 2nd [FORMAT] and a digit from 0-8. Use 9 for floating decimal display.
