Two reasons : 1> your mouse is extra sensitive, go to control pannels and then mouse and lessen the speen of ur pointer. 2> you're using some cloth or some soft area as ur mouse pad, such things slip easily, try using a proper MOUSE PAD

SOURCE: my mouse will not move the cursor

Have you syncronized it with the receiver?
Normally you press a button on receiver then press another button on underside of mouse to sync it.

Non responding wireless mouse and keyboard

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the mouse itself is faulty, if the right button when depressed returns to position and you hear the familiar click, and you don"t hear that from the left button, then the mouse itself is faulty, ask Dell to send another mouse, it should be on warranttee with your new computer.

MS Mouse Optical 2000, scrolls by itself, opens links and moves the cursor all by itself.

Interference from other wireless users was my problem. The signal coming from other offices around me interfered with my mouse/keyboard. I had to switch back to wired mouse/keyboard.

Cursor moves by itself/links come up by themselves

A couple of reasons for mouse behavior like this;

Defective mouse (Likely)
Virus (Possible)
Defective drivers (unlikely)

First, try a different mouse and see if it gives you that problem as well. If that doesn't help you out, scan your computer for viruses and malware. If you need a decent malware scanner, Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is very nice and free.

Good Luck!

The cursor moves by itself during typing. It jumps to a position and I find myself typing in the wrong place.

I have found this is usually the small button in the middle of the keyboard (mouse button) I have tried some software to remove this problem but it did not on my laptop I ended up carefully removing the key board and disconnecting the two wires that go to the button My cursors kept moving across the screen

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.

Acer Vista Laptop and cursor nightmare!!

Hi -
I've been having the same problem and it is MAJORLY annoying to be typing along, and have the cursor reappear on another line!

I had a heck of a time finding the place to disable the touchpad, since we use a USB mouse with the laptop. Turns out, someone else helped me find a simple way - hold down the Fn key (next to the left side CNTRL key), and hit F7. That toggles the touchpad off/on easily!

Also suggested by someone else, some mice can cause erratice behavior with Acer laptops, so perhaps try another mouse?

So far, I've been typing this response AFTER disabling the touchpad, and the cursor has not jumped around at all.

Good luck! : )
