Why isn't it responding to was cycle selection?

If you have a top loader, the lid switch may be defective. Sometimes a dial-type cycle selector needs a little nudge to start washing.

Whirlpool washer won't wash or spin or dump water

usually a broken lid switch if it fills with water and then nothing, set the timer on spin and pull out the timer, open the lid and stick a screw driver into the hole where the plastic acuator on the lid goes into the hole and push down easily and see if washer will run this is where the lid switch is and it's only a safety switch so when the lid is open the washer won't run,if not push up and down on the switch and listen for a clicking sound,no click switch is bad part number 285671,watch video

on the top of washing machine there is a slot where the rinse relay is located, this inexpensive part is usually the problem.turn washer off and remove the two screws inside your washer, take a good look at the part yo u can usually repair with tape.

I am trying to start a cyle and everytime i push the cycle button it does not light up and the quick rinse button comes on and flashes nothing works at all if i push heavy wash it comes on and nothing...

You haven't told me how many times the light flashes, but I will take a guess that this is an error code associated with the water entering the machine being too cool. I believe the machine expects the water to enter at 110 degrees F (43 Degrees C).

To clear the error, press "Heated Dry" then release, then press "Normal Wash" then release and repeat this sequence until all the lights on the machine go solid green. Once this happens, hit ""Cancel" and the machine will reset.

The fix for the root of the problem is to increase the temperature of the incoming water in future (Turn up your water heater temperature a little)

Pull the start switch and nothing happens

Either the water inlet hose filters are clogged, or the assembly it self is bad. Easy to replace and cheap

Washes but dosen't drain

you having an issue withthe lid switch not activating, either a bad lid switch, or the "arm that hits it simply not making connection and needs adjusting.. chances are you cant hear a "clicking" noise when the lid is lifted and lowered... if this is the case its a lid switch issue... for safety reasons, the machine is not recognising the door closed so wont enter a spin cycle. will hawever wash and fill

Whirlpool AWG 354: Water flowing can not stop

Thet happens because either the water level switch/membrane switch is faulty, or because the water inlet valve is defective and stuck on open. See also : It's overfilling
