I could not understand that why squid comes into picture when you use outlook to send mails. for sending mails is required a SMTP address .... and squid is for internet accessing using internet explorer or else.
Are you using this SMTP through squid...
If that is so, pls send me the squid.conf...file snipppet...
    Please be more elaborate....
    Cheers - Parveen

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You will need to configure an email client (an application you install on your computer) to retrieve emails from your email provider.

Windows operating systems come with email clients pre-installed.
For newer versions such as Windows 7 and 8 you can use windows live mail (You may need to download it
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewother)

For older version of Windows such as XP you should have "Outlook Express" (Not to be confused with Microsoft Outlook, which is a part of Microsoft Office)

After you decide which email client you would like to use, you can follow the email providers instructions. I'll assume for now you are wanting to check a gmail account since you posted your email address (Please refrain from posting emails on public sites when possible)

For gmail setup instructions you can follow this link to gmails settings page.

https://support.google.com/mail/troubleshooter/1668960?hl=en

Note: You will have to enable the POP / IMAP feature in your gmail settings before any mail will be sent to your client. All this information is covered in the instructions in the link I have provided.

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

I GOT INTO THE WRONG AREA, OUTLOOK EXPRESS ON MY PC CAME UP WANTING ME TO ENTER POP3 FOR SEND AND SMYP FOR RECIEVE ON EMAIL STUFF I BELIEVE. SCINCE THEN I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS MY EMAIL MY EMAIL...

Do you want to use Outlook Express to access your yahoo mail? It is Web based so you can access it online.

If you want to use Outlook Express then you need to enter the following details for standard Yahoo Mail::

    Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)
    For Yahoo Plus:

Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)

Connot send the mails

Hello malachi_pint,

The solution to your mail problem depends on which mails are being sent. It would be helpful to say the name of the mail program (outlook, thunderbird, hotmail, gmail, etc.).

I thank you for giving a rating to this solution if it has been helpful.

Have a great day,

The host 'reynolds4242' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'hi', Account: 'reynolds4242', Server: 'reynolds4242', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,...

Seems you are using outlook to send your email. You might just have clicked their "mailto" linked that's why outlook popped up with the recipient's already written.

If you don't have your own email account, you can't you outlook to send email. You better sign up with yahoo mail or google mail then continue sending your email.

Anyhow, if you have your own email account, you must have setup your POP3 mail server and SMTP mail server correctly. It somewhat looks like this:

POP3 mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
SMTP: mail.yourdomainname.com

Regards!

Can not send mail reliably with smtp.live.com using Outlook Expre

I think maybe you have your outgoing server configured incorrectly.
This is the information I retrieved from Qwest for an Outlook Express setup with a q.com address:
Incoming Server: pop3.live.com (port 995, SSL enabled)

Outgoing Server: smtp.live.com (port 25, SSL enabled, requires authentication)
So unless there is a typo in your post, you need to delete the pop3 portion from the outgoing server address. Please try that, and post back if you have further difficulty.
Refer to this link for detailed setup instructions from Qwest (click here)
I hope this info allows you to resolve this issue. If you require further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your query, please take just a moment to rate this post. Thanks!

Can i get may e mails from in.com to my pop account

Possibly! I do this with my yahoo account into outlook Express using the following:

Open Outlook Express
  1. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
  2. Select the Mail tab.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. From the Add menu, click Mail.
  5. In the text box labelled Display Name, type your name and click Next.
  6. In the Email Address and the reply address box , type your in.com mail address (be sure to include @in.com) and click Next.
  7. Under My incoming mail server is a... select POP3.
  8. Type POP.mail.in.com in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP4, or HTTP) Server box.
  9. Type smtp.mail.in.com in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box. Click Next.
  10. In the Account Name box, type your in.com Mail ID (your email address without the @in.com).
  11. In the Password box, type your in.com mail password.
  12. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the Remember password box.
  13. Do not check the boxes labelled Log on using Secure...
  14. Click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
Important: Most SMTP servers require authentication. To turn this setting on:
  1. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
  2. Select the Mail tab.
  3. Double-click the account labelled POP.mail.in.com
  4. Select the Servers tab.
  5. Check the box next to My Server Requires Authentication.
  6. Click OK.
To control deletion of messages from the in.com mail server:
  1. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
  2. Select the Mail tab.
  3. Double-click the account labelled POP.mail.in.com.
  4. Select the Advanced tab.
  5. In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check Leave a copy of messages on server if you want to save your in.com mail messages on the in.com mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the in.com mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express. If you want to access your email from both the Outlook Express client and the in.com web based client then you need to leave a copy of the mail on the server.
Please let me know if this helps!

Emails

Most of the email service providers, dont allow you to send email(they give this as a paid service). You can configure your SMTP settings on your email account properties with the SMTP server details given to you by your email service provider in order to send emails, Contact your email service provider for the SMTP server details.
