ACER aspire one netbook model# A0A150 cooling fan quit

I have an ACER aspire one netbook model# A0A150. I think the cooling fan has quit because it keeps shutting down, plus I can't hear it running. How easy is it to repair and could I do it myself? I'm no pro but have built several kit computers that are still working today.

It shouldn't be that hard if you've done it before. netbooks are just so compact, so i suggest you keep track of where everything goes. Make sure you remove the fan and test it with a 9v battery to make sure that it's dead or not.

If it is just the fan then yes you can fix it yourself its just a matter of getting the computer open enough to where you can get to the fan. Then all you have to do is take out the old and install the new. No biggie. There are some cases however where components on the motherboard can cause the fan to stop running. This is pretty rare though. Fans are the easiest fix so I hope for your sake it is the fans. Sometimes if there is a lot of dust in the fan you can even get it to work just by cleaning the fan off.

My acer aspire one netbook is freezing whenever i stay on it for more then an hour,my laptop has no virus, i think it is the cpu usage..how do i fix this?

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

My computer is not cooling (acer aspire 6530). After a point the power gets off (i think it's a security safety). Where can i order a new fan?

I doubt that you need a new fan, they are quite long lived, UNLESS you cannot hear the fan cutting in?
My guess would be that the heatsink and the cooling copper matrix have become clogged and will need the fan assembly removing and cleaned. To do this, the laptop may need taking apart, unless there is the large inspection plate underneath the laptop, in which case, the assembly is easy to get at.
If you do disturb the heatsink, make sure you apply fresh CPU grease on the chip before re-assembly

Hi,

the best chance would be to visit the store where you purchased the laptop and ask them or else the support on the Acer web site. here is the link:

My acer aspire 1 is getting too hot too fast, anything i can do it gets hot within 15 minutes and i dont want it to burn up

this is a common problem with older models of laptops as the cement on the processor is not making contact with the processing chip, this is fixable but can cost quite a lot, if it is a cheapish laptop thewn i would suggest that you get a cooling stand for it which will cost approx: $30.00

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENGB267&q=cooling+stands+for+laptops&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=AlV2TOTXCIqOjAe6x_2mBg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CD0QrQQwAA

hope this helps?
Acer Aspire One A0A150 keyboard issue,

Sounds to be you just got a faulty keyboard from HongKong, if your old keyboard works except the the Z and the new keyboard works only with function keys, then it sounds to be that the new keyboard is not ment for your laptop. if anything you should of had the same problems as your old keyboard. try using a USB keyboard.
