Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

My G1 spent five months in a flower bed and was found last weekend covered in mud after surviving watering and several inches of rain. It's been cleaned up and surprisingly, the phone turns on, the screen looks great, and the keyboard works. I did a hard reset but I can't get past the "tap the Android" screen since the touch screen doesn't respond at all. There's some corrosion on the back side of the flip out screen, not from the battery, but probably from rust on a contact thingie next to the SIM card. Can this be fixed? I have my replacement but would like to have a standby since I can't be trusted with nice things. I don't want to do the repair myself, by the way, but would like to find someone who can do it.

What are the easy and best ways to take care of flower garden?

1. Keep the water up to them so they do not dry out completely but do not over water. Many species of flowers will die quickly if allowed to dry out, especially in hot summers. Get yourself a good book covering the species of plants you have to improve you knowledge in caring for the plants.

2. Fertilise with a suitable slow release fertiliser in spring and summer.

3. Mulch the beds with a suitable product to retard weeds and retain soil moisture.

4. If the flowers are planted in a heavy soil dig a little river sand into the soil where possible in existing beds.

5. Don't use garden chemicals to ward off pests. If you have pest susceptible flower species that will require chemical spraying and the like, remove them and replace them with hardier more resilient species.

Cut Fresh Flowers to Last Longer

I love having fresh cut flowers in the house, they add so much color and life. What I have noticed is that I usually have to replace them because once they've been cut they never seem to last longer than a few days. I spent a bit of time expreimenting with different techniques for preserving fresh cut flowers so that they will last longer than just a few days. These are the best techniques that I was able to come up with.

The Proper way to cut flowers

Most people, myself included, think that cutting stems with regular scissors is okay. This is not the case, when you cut flower stems with scissors that aren't meant for cutting stems you can crush the stems and will block the flow of water to the flowers. Simply usng pruning sheers will work wonders for your flowers. Be sure to cut your stems underwater because you want to prevent air from going up the stem and blocking the flow of water to the flowers.

Mixing different things into the water that you place the bouquet in can help to preserve your flowers. I have to note that you should pick one of these methods and not mix all the suggestions together.

Putting a few drops of liquid bleach and a teaspoon of grandulated white sugar in a quart of water will work wonders. Mixing equal parts of lemon-lime soda and water is very good for your fresh cut flowers. If you don't have the soda on hand you can always use a teaspoon of white sugar, two tablespoons of white vinegar and a quart of water to preserve your flowers.
I like to use the lemon-lime method the most especially when you are going to be putting the flowers into a glass vase and will be on display immediatly. There is something beautiful about the bubbles in the water.

What is the percentage of money spent if 24500 was budgeted for 1 year and 1628 was spent in 7 months?

About 6.6%, assuming nothing else will be spent in the other five months. If the spending continues at the same pace, then about 11.4% will be spent. If 22872 will be spent in the final five months then 100% will be spent.

How do I get rid of bed bugs in my mattress?

I recommend calling a professional; however there are a few things you can do yourself to control them. Make sure to vacuum the area around your bed thoroughly as well as the mattress itself. All of your bedding should be washed in hot water and dried on a high heat. Scrub the seams and folds with a hard bristle brush, and wash with alcohol. Whatever you do, DO NOT spray pesticides anywhere on the mattress where may come into contact later with your skin.

If you don't want to call a professional, take a look at this video, maybe you will consider buying a few simple products so that you can successfully rid of your bed bug problem.

Just bought a home and found a wall wet, took tile off and the foundation crumbled off and there was a hole underneath with water in it. What would cause that?

Most likely water up against the foundation wall exterior.
You have a major problem
First make sure that any water - rain or otherwise - is not allowed to build up or seep back towards your home
Rain gutters need to extend out 5 feet or more away from the home. Flower beds need to be graded away from the foundation.
You may have legal recourse with the seller and or appraiser depending on the laws in your state
I am so sorry to hear about your problem - your troubles are just starting Good Luck
