Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

How do I get netgear to internet. I dont have internet service at this time.I am trying to internet service through a wireless system. I have a netgear installation package. It does not have software.

First you have to subscribe to an ISP for internet service such as Comcast, Verizon,ATt&T, You then have to connect a router to a computer that is to serve as your gateway. You then have to activate that router so that it brocast your Gateway ID over the air. Then you have to install drivers in your Laptop to access that gateway through the receiver WG111 adapter. You can down load those drivers at: http://kb.netgear.com/app/home/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkL0dubGU4UWpr be sure you know what version of the WG111 you have as each version is different.

I just moved and I dont know where my instructions are and I need to hook up my Netgear HELP

Go to Netgear's support site (link) and look under "Routers and Gateways". Choose "Wired Routers & Gateways Modems" or "Wireless Routers & Gateways Modems".
(You might have to tick the box "Display End-of-Life Products" if you don't see your product right away.)

Good luck!

Router connected to the internet but no network on another pc

yes... this is most likely a settings issue. first, you need to get to the router settings page.
this will usually be http://192.168.1.1

if it isn't... do you know the ip address of the computer that is currently connected to the network?

Netgear DG834G v3 Installation

connect the yellow (or blue?) ethernet cable to your computer, this should connect to the router (router should be ON)

Now, in internet explorer type 192.168.0.1 (this should be the defualt gateway for the router on default settings.

Now you're into the router, there should be a setup wizard button in there.

See if you can set it up using that

Problem with netgear wgr614 v6 daisy chain

I am assuming the Verison was setup and working before this started, if not let me know.

Do you know the address and subnet mask for the lan side of the Verison Actiontec router? assumed like address 192.168.0.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 This means all addresses 192.168.0.? belong to the verison router's subnet.

Assuming the Netgear router is being daisy chained using a lan port from the Verison Router to the WAN port of the Netgear, the WAN side of the Netgear router needs to be either dynamically addressed or statically addressed in the 192.168.0.? uniquely outside the DHCP range for the Verison router.

The LAN side of the Netgear Router must not be addressed the same as the LAN side of the Verison router in this configuration.

There is another potential configuration where lan ports of both routers are connected. however in that configuration there are additional considerations. Please let ne know which connection you are attempting between the two routers.

There is some additional informatin you can gather

Assuning you have windows XP for the operating system on your computers hook a computer wired if possible to the LAN side of each router and issue the following commands

Click Start then All Programs then Accessories then Command Prompt in the new window that opens type the following command and press enter

ipconfig

write down th IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway for each adapter

Then issue the following command once for each default gateway not = 0.0.0.0 where {...} is replaced in its entirety with the default gateway.

pring {default gateway address no {}}

the expected responses will be either 4 timeouts or 4 lines with elapsed times. Timeout is failure -- elapsed times means it was connected.

For each router I need to know the default gateway and the subnet mask for the successful pair. Plese reply ina comment to this problem and additional steps will be forthcomming.

I have DSL but it is a direct connection from my DSL modem to my USB connector in the back of my computer, can I use the RT314, RT311, RP114, FR314, FR318 Router as a Firewall?

No, because if there are no Ethernet connections on your DSL modem, there is no way you will be able to connect into a Router that uses Ethernet.
