Question about Estate ETW4400VQ Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My washer goes through all the cycles and then once it is done and I open the lid,all the water is still in it. I have tried running the spin cycle a couple of times and it spins but still does not drain the water. What could be wrong? Is it something that I can fix myself? My husband is deployed to Iraq so I hope that it is easy!

Use the video referenced below to disassemble the washer. Remove the drain pump from the front of the motor and clear out the sock or whatever is stuck in it.
You should use a shop vac or whatever you have to remove the water from the tub first.

Whirlpool cabrio wtw5600xw0 will not spin

I had the power button off so no lights were lit. I also tried it in teh done mode. None of the buttons put it into self test.

My issue with spinning is it will not complete the spin cycle and the lid lock light flashes leaving water in the tub. If I out the machine on drin and spin it will remove most of the water
I also tried the soil level temp keydance to check the console self test and it would not go into that mode either.

Water goes into the machine but the spin cycle don't work

Most washer under the lid you will see a peg of some sort that goes into a slot or hole on top face of washer. That is called a switch. It is designed to be a safety device, so when the washer is on that high speed spin cycle a child or not to smart adult does not open lid when washer is spinning at high speed. The switch is designed to only allow the machine to spin when lid is closed. It appears to me, which happens all the time, is from normal use, that switch might of Went out. Here is what you do to test it. Carefully!, have lid open and put washer on spin cycle and take a flat head screw driver in the slot where lid peg goes and depress screwdriver in slot, and listen as you put it in slot and release it, do it a few times, if you don't hear a clicking sound of like click, click, then switch is out and will not allow washer to spin. Switch then needs to be replaced which is cheap and pretty easy to do your self. With deal with that once you have determined the switch is working or not. Thanks mike

Whirlpool washer spin cycle works off and on

no the slowing down maybe caused by a sticking clutch and as before the lid switch may also be broken if when you depress it the reason i'll give is if you bump it it sometimes starts up replace the lid switch and once done the circiut will close properly then the delicate cyc should work

Rinse problem

Sounds like a timer issue. Try this, Yes it sometimes works. Spin the timer knob vigorously six to ten complete turns. It may be that the contacts are stuck together and this frequently frees them. Timers are expensive, so this is worth a try. Good luck.

Water comes back in and stands after cycle is run

I'm not sure what washer you have but a lot of washers have an additional spin cycle. If you left the lid open, then it would only fill with water then sit until the lid is closed. Try making sure the lid is closed next time you empty it and see if the water is in there the next morning. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Kenmore Washing stops at spin cycle.

It sounds like your lidswitch. If it spins after you open and shut the lid, you must be jarring the lidswitch. This is a safety so kids can't open the machine while it is spinning fast. Just replace the lidswitch.
