Does anyone have experience of Error Code 50?
In attempting to resolve a "Cannot clean the print head" problem with Brother Tech Support I eventually got an Error Code 50. I was told that it was a print head problem and that I should take the machine to the local service centre.
The immediate response from the service centre was that even though the printer is less than a year old, and no matter what else was involved with the repair, I was going to have to pay for a full set of Brother cartridges to replace the existing manufactured/refilled set. Is this reasonable or is it just an excuse to sell some of their expensive ink cartridges?
Furthermore they claim that my warranty has been voided becuase of "the use of consumables or supplies that are non-Brother products" In the US this excuse is illegal under the Sherman-Clayton Act - does anyone know what the situation is in Canada?
