Your description sounds like a convergence problem---red or blue out of position will leave green visible.
If this is the problem I can tell you what parts need to be replaced and how to do it. A convergence repair if you or someone you know can do it will cost you under 30 dollars for the parts.
Look at the attached photos and tell me if they look anything like your problem.

No two sets with this problem will look exactly the same but the pictures should tell you if it is the kind of problem you have.
