Question about Philips 170S6FB/27 17" LCD Monitor
I have this Philips 170S6FB/27 17" LCD monitor, and I also have a problem with it. See, every time I turn it on, it will flash a screen saying "aging" for half a second, and then the monitor turns off. I've tried finding a schematic or something to see if I could find out what the problem was, but no luck. Help?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Yes you can. This TV has both VGA-In and component in support. The only thing you need to change is the input you're using with your remote control. As easy as changing the channel!

Do you get anything at all on the screen--like white writing at startup?
Even if your video drivers have become corrupt, they are not used until Windows actually starts.
It very well could be the flourescent backlight has gone bad. Can you adjust the brightness/contrast at all to see anything?
If those controls do nothing for you, then you're looking to get a new monitor.
Your monitor does have a sort of power supply for the backlight and that could be bad, but if you're not into taking it apart, then you are far better off buying a new monitor.

Yes it is simple. If you have the expertise you'll find 5 capacitors on the power board are bulging. These are bad and need to be replaced. Most of the time your nearest Radio Shack will have the correct values. If you're comfortable opening up the monitor then you'll need to take it to a pro.
