Is a GeForce FX 5600 256 compatible with this motherboard, or what would be the best choice?

According to the Via website your m/b has a 4x agp port so the card also needs to be agp. The fx 5600 was available in agp and pcie (google images will show you the difference in the port / card types) HTH

I have inno3d geforce fx5500 256 128bit ddr. i have not cd. when i download specific side inno3d geforce navidia but after downloading show message is not compatible whats problem.

Hi there!
You can go to this link and click on the downloads tab.
You can see two options there: first is to choose the specific driver to download and second is to let NVIDIA download and install the specific driver for your computer.
I suggest you try the first one if you know the specification of your computer.
If you are unsure of the things that you have on the computer, choose option number 2.
Hope this helps.

Hi, i have a newly bought FX 5500 Geforce Inno3d 256mb-AGP 8x/4x, im running it on 4x , because it is the available slot on my motherboard. Previously, im running an in-board 32mb card, and changed it to...

try going to nvidia's website and download the newest drivers for that card. these should be the newest drivers for your card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html
sometimes games are picky about drivers. if those do not work, try looking in the driver archives and getteting older ones until you have no more issues. you can also google the game that your trying to play, and put "what drivers work for xxxxxx game" the x's being the name of your game. you can also try running it at 8x if your motherboard supports 8x. you will have to go into bios and change it manually. and also see if you can select the agp to 256

Does intel d845pesv motherboard support 8x graphic card? is Geforce FX 5600 compatible to this?

The AGP connector installed on the Intel® Desktop Boards listed below are keyed for 1.5V and 0.8V AGP cards only, and will only support AGP Graphics Cards at 4X and 8X speeds. This one is a 8x so will be good.

Hope It helped if it did make sure to rate.

Will a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 video card work on a P4B533-E motherboard?

HI Lau_kua08,

First off, your motherboard is a AGP 4x slot, and the Card is a AGP 8X card. However, NVIDIA based graphic cards which support AGP 8x mode (Accelerated Graphics Port) follow the AGP 3.0 specification. The AGP 3.0 specification retains backwards compatibility with older AGP 4x technology. All NVIDIA Geforce and Quadro GPU's which support AGP 8x mode are downwards compatible with AGP 4x motherboards. When a graphics card which operates at AGP 8x mode is installed on a motherboard which only supports up to AGP 4x mode, the card will automatically switch to AGP 4x operation.

So, yes it will work.

Good Luck,

Mark

Yes, they should be compatible. The Intel d865gbf has an AGP port that supports AGP 4x/8x, and so does the FX5500. You should be fine.

Installing GeForce 5200 on Dell Dimension 2400

I suggest that better check that graphic card in another machine and make sure it is working.

Also find out the data transfer speed of your mother board through the AGP slot is compatible with your graphic card. (e.g. 4X, 8X, etc.)

If you are sure that your system really has an 8X AGP port (A choclate colored slot) then you could deffinitely install the card and work with it.

With the information I received the Dell Dimension 2400 deos not features an AGP 8X port, in that case it is not possible to install the card.

Then you should buy a new motherboard with AGP 8X Port to be able to install the Ge force FX 5200.
