I'm having a little problem here and was hoping someone can point me int he right direction. I can not get the dryer or washer to work by it self. In order to use the dryer i would have to put the washer on and then the dryer will kick on. And when i open the washer lid the dryer stops. The same goes for the washer i have to press the start button on the dryer in order for the washer to work. Any ideas? Thanks in Advance-Jerry

The control panel is locked. on the control panel, there will be either a "lock" button that you hold down for 3-5 seconds to unlock, or it will have "lock" in small letters with a line pointing to 2 of the option buttons. hold the 2 buttons it points to for 3-5 seconds and it will unlock. the control lock is a child safty feature that will not allow any the washer to work until it is unlocked. P.S. to put the control panel into the lock mode, is the same way as you unlock the control panel.
Not my expertise, but check exhaust vent, making sure it is not clogged, then contact manufacturer for probable causes, maybe burner nozzle is clogged, or gas valve is not functioning properly. Burner nozzle would be first place to start.
I can not find your model number that you posted.
I can tell you that all whirpool thin twins up to last year were direct drive with no belt except for the dryer section. Whirlpool stackers from the early eighties did have a washer belt if yours is this old replace the entire machine.
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
If the doors were interchangeable I would expect that to be a selling point (!) and mentioned in the manuals ;-0)
The problem is that the holes for the hinges, the door catches, the electronics/electrics for the door solenoid and close sensors need to be available already on the other side. On top of those requirements the doors need to be the same internal shape upside down, as they would be upside down if swapped over to the other side.
So sorry, all in all it doesn't look good, does it ;-0(
Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack
you need to open the top lid. There are two piins that release it(located where the top and front meet) lift it up and you will see the element on the top left, to the right side you will see two WHITE wires, they go to the thermal fuse. You can atach them and then plug the dryer in and see if it starts. When it does, you will need to order the thermal fuse kit.
Before you begin make sure to UNPLUG the dryer!!!!!!
Thanks for your email. The problem was fixed, the main power board had been affected. Checked for spares and found they were available on line but the mark up prices independents were charging meant that a new machine was the only option.( It would also take 21 days to deliver) However on contacting Miele direct they were extremely happy to send us the part at half the lowest price that the independent were quoting. Their parts dept also checked that we wre ordering the right part. They were very thorough and patient and confirmed that the powerboard would take only 3 days to send. Thanks
