Hello,

A BIOHD-8 error refers to a Hard Disk failure.
This error message occurs when the Hard Disk has failed.
It is a very common problem with HP hard disks.

Unfortunately, when the Hard Disk fails, it can not be fixed, the only solution here would be to back up your files and replace your Hard Disk with a new one.

I would recommend that you buy a Toshiba Hard Disk because they are one of the most durable Hard Drives in the market and they rarely get faulty.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth

Will not boot in to windows keep reseting error. 100a biohd -8 hd535-3 hd535-6 hd521-4 hd521-2

boot your laptop in safe mode by pressing F8 while starting the computer. follow this link http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup-1.51.1.1800. download and install antimalwarebyte while in safe mode. Run a complete scan, restart the laptop, update your antivirus and do a complete scan and you will be good. If your laptop restarts when trying to boot into safe mode, then you need to repair your Operating system with its original disk. This would solve your problem. Please give me a feedback

Error unitialized corrupt boot structure detected biohd-4 boot path, keep getting this after trying to install windows 7, cant boot disk anymore so cant install windows 7

try repairing the file system using chkdsk with /f switch. However, it is strongly recommended to run this tool only if you have a full data backup
. To do so, click \'Start\' and then \'Run\'. You can then type \'chkdsk /f <drive name>\' in the \'Open\' box and click OK. Here, the drive name should be exactly what is appearing in error message. Alternatively, you can opt for deleting the corrupt partition provided the backup is available. If no good backup exists, you should consider to use a Windows Data Recovery utility. These are powerful and valid Windows partition recovery utilities built to scan the corrupt or deleted partitions and safely recover the lost data. The applications are easy to install and use.

Cant get windows xp to load

Hit F8 while it is booting up and take it into SAFE MODE if at all possible. From there run an error check.

Go to My Computer - right click on C: -- go to properties - then select Tools - error check. Make sure you check the two boxes to have windoews fix the errors as they are found. The error check should run after you restart your computer.

if it still doesn't load.. reboot while presssing F8 and take it into safe mode and use SYSTEM RESTORE to restore computer to earlier date.

Go to:
START - ACCESSORIES - SYSTEM TOOLS -- SYSTEM RESTORE. and then select a date computer was working ok.

Error code:BIOHD-8

Rebooting forever is either memory fault or the HDD have corrupt system files. From the BIOHD-8, it sounds like HDD issue. Try download "HDD Regenerator 1.51" CD ISO, burn to DC and scan to whole Harddrive. This nice software is designed to recover corrupt/bad sectors. I had a friends PC falls into this case. 1 bad sector was found and recovered within 2GB from start where most Windows system files are stored. Then reboot and windows do a chkdsk automatically, and resolved!

Computer will not boot up. I have tried to boot up in safe mode, normal, safe mode with prompt command...nothing works, just goes back to the normal start up screen and keeps doing the normal start up over...

It looks like you're encountering an endless reboot? Here's what to do to find the actual error message.

  1. Turn on the computer, and press F8 after the POST screen but before Windows attempts to start to access the advanced startup options.
  2. Select "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure" and press Enter.
You should now get a blue screen with an error message and error codes. Please write these codes down and report back.

Hello... My Windows XP has the following registry failure (c:0000218) I've attempted to boot up my Avanquest Systems Suite 8 Rescue disk, but it has failed. I can't get into safe mode, etc. Thanks, Paul

Sorry to hear about your trouble. From the error you stated, it seems your SR got corrupted (common with norton/symantec products). The best bet is to try System Restore from Safe Mode.

As for your second problem, here is an alternate way to access Safe Mode (I am assuming you can get into Normal Mode):
  1. Go to START, then RUN
  2. type "msconfig" and hit enter
  3. the system configuration window will appear
  4. among the several tabs across the top, one of them will say "boot.ini", click this tab
  5. there will be a box that you can check next to Safe Mode.
  6. Click Apply, then OK
  7. Restart
  8. Keep in mind that your computer will automaticall go in to safe mode until you uncheck this box.
Good luck and keep us updated!
