    Hi,

Printer Jam 0 is the message I am getting.

Where is the drum? How do I find it to clean it?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hi,

Thanks for helping with this. I work in an office and have dealt with paper jams on a regular basis. So, I know the normal places to look. My problem is there doesn't appear to be any paper stuck anywhere. It's a pretty tight machine (not many places for fingers to search). I've removed the toner cartridge to search, but nothing!

I have not used the printer for years. I got the paper jam message when I tried to print the test page. then I played with the roller, took out the toner, and then was able to print out a test page which was smudged on the left of the page, but pretty much perfect in the centre. Then I kept getting the paper jam message.

Do you know where the drum is on this machine?

Do you have any other ideas for me to solve this problem?

    Thanks again,

    Chris

Hello.

You can clean the drum with a soft cloth - careful not to scratch.

But, if still a problem, determine what type of paper jam you are experiencing.

Is the error message Jam 0, Jam 1 or Jam 2 ???

    Hi, Chris.

Just remove the toner cartridge and clean with a soft cloth.

For Paper Jam 0 (from Samsung Support):

    Message: Paper Jam 0

    (In the paper feed area)

    1) Open and close the front cover. The
jammed paper automatically exits the machine. If the paper does not exit,
    continue to Step 2.

    2) Pull the paper tray open.
    3) Remove the jammed paper by gently
    pulling it straight out.
If there is any resistance and the paper does not
move when you pull or if you cannot see the paper in this area, skip to the
fuser area around the toner cartridge.

    4) Insert the paper tray into the machine
    until it snaps into place.
    5) Open and close the front cover to
    resume printing.

    Hi, Chris.

The drum is the mechanical part of the cartridge.

It's possible that there is a problem with the paper sensor in the back part of the machine, behind the little back door just
under the top part of the machine. This sensor hangs down from a thin rod that
runs across the width of the machine, and is held in place by a small spring
that encircles the same rod that supports the finger. The spring may have been dislodged from its proper place. If so, try rotating it around the rod with your finger to get the spring moved back.

I keep getting the Unable to clean message, even after cleaning manually. Is my printer about to go to printer heaven?

Resetting purge counter:

1) Enter machine maintenance mode (on MFC210C all four photo/copy/fax/scan lights flash in maintenance mode). Care is needed in maintenance mode, otherwise critical settings may be inadvertently corrupted.

FAX models with numerical keypads: Press the Menu/Set, *, 2, 8, 6 and 4 keys within two seconds. (if you fail to complete the correct key sequence within two seconds, press the Stop key to try again).

Other (non-FAX) models: Press the Menu/Set and Black Start keys. Next press the "up arrow" key four times to enter the maintenance mode).

2) Press the 8 then 0 keys in the initial stage of the maintenance mode to call up the machine's log information list (function code 80).

3) Press the Black Start key several times to scroll through the log information list to reach the purge counter. The purge counter is the 25th item in the list.

4) Press the 2, 7, 8, and 3 keys in this order to reset the purge count to zero.

5) Press the Stop/Exit key to return to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

6) Press the 9 key twice to return to the standby state.

Maintenance message kept appearing but could still use machine. With info from your site, I think I cleared it. However, we keep getting a message that there is a paper jam (Jam 50). Could find nothing...

Maintenance message is setted by the technician, the numbers of copies that you can make with the same drum is limitted by the technician, (100k) if you reach this limit the maintenance message appears, you have to replace the maintenance kit (the opc drum, transfert corona, main corona) to avoid the bad quality copy. if you need to work with the machine you have to call the technician he can increase the counter limit to clear the warning message.

UNIT KEEPS ASKING FOR NEW DRUM EVEN AFTER I INSTALL. ALSO PAPER JAM MESSAGE KEEPS COMING UP

The drum error can be cleared by opening the front door and pressing either the options or menu button. It will ask if it's a new drum and you press 1 for yes. Your paper jam error you will have to look where it's jamming and remove scraps, without seeing it myself I can't tell you what to do to fix it.

XEROX PHASER 8550 PRINTS ONE PAGE AND JAMS THE SECOND - DID TESTS AND PAPER PATH TRAIL EDGE AND PAPER DRIVE POWER BOTH FAIL, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT PART IT MIGHT NEED...THX

Is the Drum unit clean?
Often the Drum Maintenance kit can get dirty, and not clean the Drum properly, which can lead to jams.
Also, the drive cam for the Drum Maintenance kit can fail. This means not enough cleaning pressure is applied to the Drum unit, and it can't clean it properly, causing jams.

good luck

Xerox Phaser 8400: Our printer keeps jamming. Some of the ink is staying on the right edge of the drum and it seems as the paper goes through the printer it gets stuck on that ink. We use only Xerox ink...

There are no less than 5 places on this model where you might clear a paper jam. Is it possible you still have a small bit of paper stuck somewhere?

HOW DO I REMOVE JAMMED PAPER

Please turn the printer Off and then ON , till you see the error message of " Paper Jam" check all the flags on paper path, specially on Fuser Assembly.
.
Turn printer OFF, pull all trays out gently,
Disconnect cables to network or PC. turn printer ON,
check the message gets repeated - paper Jam,

Conclusion : There is some bit and piece of paper activating flags,
take all toners out gently and transfer Drum, look into printer, and
lift the paper path under the toners, push the door a little bit and unscrew the paper path and can see a piece of paper on right side..
Pull the paper out and screw bach. put every thing back in their original status.

Now the printer will work and there will not be any papers..

Paper Jam at exit holder

Hi jam_es_2001:
The roller in the maintenace kit applies a thin layer of oil to the image drum. When the image is applied to the drum the oi prevents the image from sticking. The cleaning blade cleans the drum after the image is applied to paper. After the image is applied to the paper the drum is cleaned by the cleaning blade and new oil is applied to the drum for the next image. Check the roller in maintence kit to see if it is dry, if it is replace the maintenance kit.

Hope this helps

Paper Jam

Some basic non-tech questions:
  • Are you using paper that's been allowed to sit open for weeks? It might have absorbed water.
  • Are you in the habit of reusing paper that's double-fed? I used to, but it's more likely to jam
  • When was the last time the technician was in to do a preventive maintenance? The machine may need a basic clean-and-check.
  • Check your manual, and check what the machine is telling you (on the display, if it has one). The location of the jam may give you an idea of the reason for the jam (jamming at the fuser may indicate a cold fuser, jamming at the drum can be caused by broken separation fingers, etc.) If you have a technician, this will be useful information.

Fault Code 08.001.44 Paper Jam

That is a failure in the maintenance kit tray area.
1. The Cap/Wipe/Purge belts have loosened up or are out our alignment. - Adjust the Cap/Wipe/Purge belts and follow the procedures outlined in the Service Quick Reference Guide for adjusting these belts and proper alignment. 2. Ink contamination or spilled wax is keeping the Cap/Wipe/Purge from properly moving. - Clean up spilled ink from the drum maintenance rails guides, sensors, and pulley belts. 3. The Drum Maintenance rail guides are out of position. - Remove and reseat if necessary. These rails may have suffered fatigue and may show signs of cracking or breaking. If this is the case it is a recommendation to replace the Drum Maintenance rail guides
The maintenance drawer itself may have the end tabs worn down from lifting up and down.

Dirty printout and paper jams

Hi Hazel,

Sounds like it needs a maintenance kit. This will include a fuser, which should resolve the problem of the repeated horizontal lines and ghosted words. It will also cause more frequent paper jams when it needs maintenance.

A manual for installing a maintenance kit can be found online but sometimes will come with the kit. Google it anyway as it will give you an idea of the work involved.

Hope this helps!
