Check your breaker by turning it off and back on. Then check wiring at plug and back of dryer. You could have a bad relay switch. You can find it under the top and put the 2wires together and try it then . If it works, you know that it is the relay switch. Last but not least, it may be your element. Check it visually to see if there is a break in it or a weak spot.

Where is the thermal fuse on a series 80 kenmore electric dryer. will this act as though the power is off? How can i test the fuse?

Yes, but there are several thermal limiters, they should reset when the unit cools, so likely that is not what is happening.... Forcefully turn the breaker FULLY off, and then back on, and test again...

The thermal limiters are located along the air flow path, typically downstream of your burner, the purpose is to prevent overheating and fire. These limiters stop the HEATING element and not the drum motor...

The problem is in the thermal cut-off (cut-out) and the high-limit thermostat located on the heating element housing. Verify this condition by bypassing the said components. Click on the link below for the details.

No heat, noise when drum turns Sears series 80 electric dryer model # 110.66842501 serial # 11T2010304

Hi,
Verify that you have 220V ac at the wall . Inspect power cord for damage. Verify that you have 220Vac to the machine.
If you have 220v to the machine then you may have a bad heating element or a loose or bad wire inside the machine.

What kind of noise when drum turns?

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Motor does not turn

if coils is heating are you sure motor isn't running or just the drum not turning ? if drum not turning suspect belt ..if motor not running but element still heating suspect element is contacting outer case ..with coil touching case 110 volts is present even without motor turning if timer is turned to heat position element will not heat to capacity but will get hot enough to eventually blow element fuse

80 series front load dryer will not turn.

It almost has to be the belt as the heating element won't come on without the motor turning.
