Laptop C partition low disk space

Make sure your hard disk has enough space. Most often when the error massage comes it will tell you how much free space is required to install the game look keenly and know how much space is required then either move all media files mainly video files especially downloaded in the download folder to an alternative partition and only leave windows and installed program on Local Disk C. Other wise if your hard disk capacity is very small then am afraid that you will have to get a bigger hard disk.

Simply formatting the hard drive does not remove all residual traces of the previous installation. When you get to the step for formatting, go to the advanced button and delete the partition that contained windows 8. Then create a new partition in the space, format, and install windows 7.

I just installed a game onto my x box but my memory is almost full is there a way to move it to my usb drive so i can still play the game without the disk?

Hi, you can't actually play a game with-out the disk. Saving it onto your hard drive is pretty much pointless. The point of it is so that in case you scratch or wreck your cd, it will be saved onto your xbox. But you cannot play it without the disc in your xbox because each disk has a security ribbon. You can save it onto a USB if you really wanted to, but you would have to format the USB stick so that it is in xbox format. It will remove everything on it and make it not be usuable with a computer.

When putting in Forza Motorsport 3 the console makes a lound noise, like the fan is on overtime when reading disc a lot louder than other games. Tried other games after and just low hum. Is it the...

Likely that for some reason the Xbox is having a hard time reading the disc and it is spinning the drive trying to search for files on the disk. If you aren't having the same issue with other games then recommend to resolve this issue then simply install the game onto your hard drive and the game will then only need to be accessed for verification only and the game will be played off your hard drive and not your disk drive. Here are the instructions for insalling a game to your hard drive:
Install Xbox 360 games on your hard drive from a game disc Note Installing an Xbox 360 game on a hard drive requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB) of free disc space.
  1. Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

    ddopen360s.jpg

Note After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, exit the game, and return to the Xbox Dashboard.

  2. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox.
  3. Select the game you want to install.
  4. Press Y on your controller.
  5. Select Install to Hard Drive.

    gameinstallhdnxe.jpg

A progress indicator appears while your game is being installed on your hard drive.
Notes
  • Installing an Xbox 360 game might take several minutes.
  • Multidisc game? Install each disc to your hard drive.
Play a game from your hard drive
  1. Insert the game disc into the disc drive.
  2. Go to My Xbox, and select the name of the game you want to play.
Note The game disc must be in the disc drive, even though you have installed the game on your hard drive. The console will automatically play the game from your hard drive, but the disc has to be present.

There is a small little coloured ball that comes on my computer and then it freezes while I am playing a game

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support.

Anytime you see the "rainbow pinwheel" which does manifest itself from time to time in Mac OS X environments, this is an indication of either a software issue or even a hardware issue.

Considering you are playing a game, it would be safe to assess that this issue you are having is in relation to the game you are playing (being unresponsive), means that this is a software issue.

There are several variables in regards to fixing issues with the spinning pinwheel in relation to a software.

If your application is not responding, you can first of all Force Quit the application by selecting Apple Command, Option and the Esc keys, and either select the game application in the window, which should be displayed as "Not Responding" and Force Quit or select Finder and simply relaunch it.

If you are unable to get your Mac OS X system to respond at all, then try a PRAM Reset process as shown below:

--PRAM RESET --
• First, hold in your power button for approximately 10 seconds to do a hard shutdown, if you have not already turned your Mac off.

• Once your Mac is shutdown, you will need to perform what is called a PRAM reset (Parameter RAM)
This should help with the freezing issue:

• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously .

• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

• Now, hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the third time.

• Release the keys and allow the Macbook to start up.
--Check to see if you are able to launch and play your game now.

If neither of these steps work, then if you have your Mac OS X installation disc which came with your Macbook, then I would finally recommend you perform these steps below with the installation (Macbook Restore) disk:

-RUN DISK UTILITY WITH MAC OS X INSTALLATION or RESTORE DISK-

Insert your Mac OS X Startup disk (Note: make sure the disk contains the same Mac OS X platform that your Macbook is currently running)

•Reboot your Mac
•At the Apple Chime, press the C key and hold it until you see a White screen, gray Apple and eventually a Spinning gear.
• Release the C key only after you see the Spinning gear.
•Mac will boot from the startup disk to the Installer environment
• From the Installer Menu bar, click Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility application.
• Click on on the hard drive at the top of the window in the left sidebar and
• Select "Repair Disk"
**Let Disk Utilities run this repair the disk until completion
• At the end of this process, reboot your Mac

Now attempt to run your game application and see how your system responds after the Disk Repair process.

If the Macbook still persists in freezing or the game application still causes the spinning pinwheel to appear, then you may need to increase your Macbook's RAM memory, as the game may require more memory resources than you current have installed with your Macbook, or it may not be compatible with the current version of Mac OS X you are running with your Macbook.

I hope these steps point you in the right direction.

Regards,

Hi... i am having satellite a300-1bz laptop.. i was trying to install the windows 7 while i deleted the previous one. now i am unable to locate my hard disk. what should i do. kindly help me with this

the reason of the disk not being detected is because you need to load the driver for the sata controller, when win7 prompts the window to select where you want to install it, there is an option to load controllers drivers, click on this option the laptop would search for the available media, make sure you have downloaded the controller driver to a cd or to a usb key so that it can find it
here is a link to download the controllers driver

How to install external hard disk for mac

Hi,

Jeena you can just connect the hard drive to the mac it will recognize it & it will install the drivers automatically.

Before using it you have to format the drive using the Apple's disk utility.

First, locate the 10.2 CD and start up the iMac using the CD (insert CD, restart computer, immediately hold down C key).
Do not click on the installer screen. Instead go to the Installer Menu (or Options) and select Disk Utility.

When that opens, click on the second icon at the top left, then click on Repair Disk. Watch the activity screen. If it does any repairs, you will need to click on the Repair Disk button a second time. This is to make sure it finds all the problems and repairs them. You want to see no reference to repairs made - which may mean you have to click on that button three or four times.

How much memory is installed on the computer? To find this, just go to the Apple menu at the top far left and select About This Mac. The window that opens will give you the amount of memory installed, processor speed and exactly what OS version you are running.

How much empty available space is on the hard drive? To find this, just open a window. At the very bottom you should see how many items and how much available space.

You can use the SMART to run the diag on your had drive from

The additional tasks which can be performed by using disk tility can be found :

This will solve your problem.
