They make these adapter that lets you put your video camera tape inside of a special tape that fits inside of your vcr.
If you have a usb connection you could try and see if your camera will work good enough to transfer the video onto your pc.

Even if you dismantle the entire camera, it still wont give you access to the tape bay. You will have to pry it open. You can try to dismantle if you'd like, your model may be different then the ones I've had to repair. I'm just stating that majority of the time, it has to be pried open.

Try dismantling the camera and try getting it out that way. If it doesn't work, then you will either have to repair the camera or pry the door open.

pry it open won't hurt the tape, possibly the camera but if you do it carefully, it should not hurt anything.

I have a Sony Digital Handycam Digital 8. The tape is stuck inside and the cassette bay won't open. How do I get my tape out? Tape of my child's birth inside so I don't want to damage it.

This can be caused by several problems including a defective eject switch in the cameras internal circuitry and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm simply trying to finalize a disk from my samsung SC-DC575 dvd camera recorder, but it won't let me. How do I finalize?

This should auto happen as you remove the disk from camera, beware though that if this does not auto happen (mostly the case anyway) you will mostly find you have not recorded any movie you can play anyway, this is mostly the reason camera makers have Droped disks to go to tapes or Mem sticks today, but tape is far the best as yet.

I need to know about a video camera with cassettes that came with a projector that was produced in the late 70's and early 80's. please help me as i have about 30 cassettes of my 30 year old son when he...

There were only two type of video tape available for consumer in the 70's. VHS and Betamax. You can still find good working VCRs to play those tapes. Please take a tape to local electronic retailer and they can help or direct you to correct VCR player. -James
