Computer was shut down abnormally following a power failure in a thunder storm. No apparent physical damage to machine but will not reboot. Machine gives single long beeps at 6 second intervals. BIOS is...

take out the processor chip and clock battery along with the ram while it is disconnected from the wall outlet and wait about 5 mins. after you put it back together, if the problem persists the processor might need to be replaced or the entire motherboard its self.

MOTHERBOARD GA-7ZX THE PROBLEM IS , I HAVE A MOTHERBOARD GA-7ZX,WITH VGA ON BOARD AND IN YOUR MANUALS , THERE IS NOTHER ABOUT THIS MODEL AS I SAID MOTHER BOARD GA-7ZX, ALL YOUR VER. IS MENTIONED THAT MODEL...

You posted this problem twice. I have replied to each differently.

The motherboard manuals would be supplied by the manufacturer, in this case a company named Gigabyte, which is not a part of nor related in any way to FixYa.com website. The following is a link to the support page for this motherboard on the Gigabyte website:)

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=1369

There are three revisions of this motherboard {1.x, 5.0 and 5.1} and NONE of them have onboard VGA. All use an add-in 4X AGP VGA card that goes into the brown slot at the top of the white PCI slots.

Compare your motherboard to the pictures available at Gigabytes' support page (the link above) to make sure we are talking about the same motherboard, although as far as I can see there was no other manufacturer that made a motherboard with the GA-7ZX designation. Please verify and repost your results.

Repeating beep on startup.

Hi iamborg,
You're Gigabyte GA-8VD667K board uses an Award bios. (Click on the link).
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

The beeps are telling you to remove you're memory & seseat it.
It would help if you cleaned the copper colored contacts with some house hold alchhol on a cotton swap. (clean both sides & let dry).

Good Luck!
That should do it.

Mike

AGP card support

Hi, Unfortunately no AGP slot nor PCI-E. The Gigabyte GA-8I845GV motherboard has only 3 Expansion Slots and all of the are PCI (33MHz & PCI 2.2 compliantt). From their website, here's an image of the motherboard http://www.giga-byte.com.tw/FileList/Image/motherboard_productimage_ga-8i845gv_big.jpg It has a built-in Intel® Extreme Graphics Engine (845GV chipset) for video with max of 128 mb shared memory. Should you wish to install an add-on 3rd party PCI video card, Inno3D FX5500 256ddr PCI slot tv-dvi are still available (at least in my location) for an equivalent of about 3.5K INR (80USD+). Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck and kind regards.
