If it's a whirlpool, most likely agitator dogs went bad.

Kenmore 70 series mod 110.24722300 the top part opf the agitator seems really wobbly, when spinning. is ther a bearing out or what? thanks

Does it agitate properly when in washing cycle? If it agitates "sloppily" there is a little kit you can buy to replace the agitator parts that get worn out. (they are called "dogs"). It doesn't cost much and is fairly easy to do.

The agitator my also just be loose. You can pry off the cap and tighten it up, but I suspect the dogs are worn.

The agitator seems loose on my Maytag top loading machine.. model LAT9206BAE it started this after one of my kids overloaded the machine.. works fine but makes a loud clanging noise while washing.. almost...

Use a 1/4 inch nut driver to tighten the set screw to the agitator shaft. It is about 3 inches up from the bottom of the agitator on the side of the agitator.

The agitator seems to "slip" and therefore does

There are a set of "teeth" in these agitators that where out. Pull the fabric softener dispenser off. Remove the screw holding the agitator in place and pull it up and out of the tub. Then you'll have to separate the agitator, just pull really hard, using a forked object like a tree (seriously). Then you will see the dog ears 4 of them get replacement parts install in reverse. It will work great, like new.

Ge whdrr418e4ww my agitator seems to have come loose

One stupid question on trying to get access to the nut to remove the agitator shaft. After I removed the fabric softener dispenser there appears to be a plastic cap between. I've tried everything I can to remove this piece of plastic so i can get access to bolt.. Am I missing something obvious?

Kenmore washer 100.92380200 upper agitator not turning

Just fixed mine. You will need an agitator repair kit. It comes with cover seal, bolt seal ratchet pieces and thrust plate for the bottom of upper agitator. Remove fabric cup and cover underneath. Remove bolt and upper agitator. Simple fix. New parts have instructions to repair. Get the correct model number and buy it from an appliance parts place. Around $20.00 retail.

I have a Whirlpool Model# LSQ7030LQ0 washing machine. The washer is making a lot of noise and the agititator seems loose and is flopping around as it turns. If I grab on to the agitator I can stop it...

This "MAY" be an easy fix,

I have seen the main bolt that fixes the agitator to the drive shaft come loose.

If you can imagine the agitator as a cone, the top point of the agitator is a cap that should pull or clip off. If so, using a long extention shaft and a socket set, you should be able to tighten up the bolt.

Good luck and post back results

Agitator loose

Just reach down between the basket and the agitator, and lift really hard straight up. Be sure not to hit yourself in the head when it pops loose. GE agitators just snap on to the air-bell underneith. Be sure that bell isnt loose after you remove. Good Luck!!!!

Loose agitator Maytag LAT2600AAE

Look toward the bottom end of the agitator. There should be a small indentation where a 10mm screw is. This screw holds the agitator the the transmission shaft. Sometimes the screw works loose and needs to be tightened.

Agitator - is it working right?

there is slipping in the transmission. older machines used a pair of electrical solenoids to shift between spin and agitate. newer machines use the motor direction to engage the transmission for agitate and reverses for empty and spin. GE service phone: 1-800-848-7620
