Question about HP DVD1040i 20x Super Multiformat Dvd Writer, Internal Burner
I have an HP Pavilion dv8000
My device manager just started not recognizing my DVD burner after I deleted a bunch of programs off my laptop. Error message I get when I do properties on the DVD burner in Device Manager reads:
Windows Successfully loaded the Device driver for this Hardware but cannot find the hardware Device (Code 41)
The DVD burner is listed as: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N
I cannot figure out how to get to into my bios to see if it recognizes the DVD RW? And if the DVD is broken where can I get a comparable one other than HP who will charge me an arm and leg and is it possible for me to switch out the DVD myself?
If ur using HP computer then start tapping F10 immediately when u start ur comp.. this will take u to Bios.. u should be able to see ur CD/DVD rom there..
second.. Error 41 normally means comp. is unable to read the CD/DVD rom properly.. heres wht u need to do ..
