Had the same problem and the fix is easy. Hopefully, the tail snapped off at the base of the plastic plate on the tail. If so, go to a hardware store and buy 1 ft. of plastic tubing with 1/4" inner diameter and 3/8" outer. Cut off a piece about 1 1/2". Now, look at the base of the tail and you should see a small screw that holds in what remains of the stub that broke. Unscrew the screw and remove what is left of the stub. KEEP THE SCREW. Now drill a small hole thru the plastic tube about 1/8" from the end. This will later be inserted into the tail and the screw will go through the hole. Next, take a hair dryer and heat the undrilled end of the tube to soften it and push it on to what is left of the broken stub inside the pony. It will be a tight fit which is what you want. The end of the tube with the hole should be just visible. Now slide the tail over the end of the tube and insert the screw. I just did it today and it works good as new! If the tail is too far away from the body of the pony, carefully remove the tube and shorten it. Since you bought a 1 ft. tube, you can have several trys to get it right! Total cost for the tube was 21 cents. Good luck! Kip V. Tryon, NC

CORRECTION!! The tubing you need is clear 3/16" inner diameter, 5/16" outer diameter. The size is critical to give you a snug fit over the stub inside the pony and also fit into the hole on the tail. The clear tubing will be much easier to work with than a "cloudy" tube... more flexible and should grab the stub inside the pony better.

How to get into and fix tail doesnt move anymore

Here is a link to instructions for removing the fur from the FurReal Friends Butterscotch Pony. Beyond that, I have no idea how to fix a broken tail. If you can find somebody who works on robotic/animatronic toys, or a good handyman, they can probably fix it for you.

How to fix a broken tail

Call Hasbro Customer Service / Replacement Parts. Hasbro is out of stock on A LOT of stuff, especially the extras like carrots and brushes, but they may be able to send a replacement tail. If you have the tail and can see the break, it may be possible to fix, but you'll need a plastic:plastic epoxy (I can recommend). Do you have pictures? You can contact Hasbro CS directly at 1-800-327-8264 :)

Where can i get replacement parts for butterscotch? bought at sam's 3 years ago Kids now really into horses and of course our pony needs a few things. battery pack, tail, brush, and carrot any help?

I have had similar problems with toys myself. Seems as if when I am sure that my boys are done with a toy and it is long forgotten- it resurfaces needing some tlc... Here is a link to get the battery pack and cover. I would also suggest checking auction sites, as I have been able to find elusive little plastic parts of helicopters there too :-) Best of luck, and looking at Butterscotch; I would love her too!

My sister gave my daughter her daughter's Butterscotch horse. When we started to put new batteries in, the old batteries were still in and battery acid leaked all in the battery pack. Is there a way to...

It all depends on the severity of the corrosion, but I have started with denatured alcohol and an acid brush. Do this over a plastic disposable cup. Let this dry and then try baking soda and water solution and see if it will cut the corrosion. I have Contact cleaner that I use then, if you have some where you can get that done. I use De-ox-it and again with a clean acid brush work it in.

Looking to repair the tail on Butterscotch pony

Had the same problem and the fix is easy. Hopefully, the tail snapped off at the base of the plastic plate on the tail. If so, go to a hardware store and buy 1 ft. of CLEAR plastic tubing with 3/16" inner diameter and 5/16" outer. Cut off a piece about 1 1/2". Now, look at the base of the tail and you should see a small screw that holds in what remains of the stub that broke. Unscrew the screw and remove what is left of the stub. KEEP THE SCREW. Next, take a hair dryer and heat the undrilled end of the tube to soften it and push it on to what is left of the broken stub inside the pony. It will be a tight fit which is what you want. You will probably need to twist the tube gently while applying firm pressure on it to make it slide over the stub. The end of the tube with the holes should be about even with the outside top of the white plastic hole and the tube holes should be level, looking at it from side to side. This makes the alignment of the screw hole to the tail correct. Now slide the tail over the end of the tube and insert the screw. I just did it today and it works good as new! If the tail is too far away from the body of the pony, carefully twist and remove the tube and shorten it. Since you bought a 1 ft. tube, you can have several trys to get it right if you cut it too short! Total cost for the tube was 21 cents. Good luck! Kip V. Tryon, NC

make sure the batteries are in the right way and contacts are clean , try new batteries from a fresh pack, make sure switch is on if it has one, then if that doesnt work, beat butterscotch on the floor a few times, may get him going (seriously)
