- THANX! Now I can star using my comp to get online and stop bothering my sister when I want to use AOL....
This could be one of many things, but my first suggestion is this.
Open up your Device Manager:
Right click My Computer and select Properties - click on the hardware tab - click the Device Manager button.
Inside your Device Manager check to see if your Modem has a yellow or red icon next to it...
If so open the properties for your modem and click on the resources tab. This page will tell you if the devices IRQ number is conflicting with any other devices.
If the IRQ number is the problem try changing it, then re-booting your computer.....

- OK, try to disable the device that your modem is conflicting with, reboot your machine, then re-enable the conflicting device.... You might need to reboot again after enabling the other device but I'm not sure...
This should force windows to change the IRQ number on one of the devices...

After installing my USR 5699B modem, the cursor became eratic and jerky. I disabled the modem and cursor is normal. USR says "not enough RAM". I have 1 GB, which is all my motherboard will support. Is there a solution with only 1 GB of RAM?
