2 sided printing problem

Hi, i'm having problem with 2 sided printing on my Xerox workcentre pro 123.
On the 2 sided print drop down menu, the only available options are: 1 sided print, flip on short and long edge. If i want directly to copy something on the printer, i can copy it 2 sided.
I downloaded the latest drivers from xerox web page, same result, even worst.
Flip on short and long pages now is not available, it gives "duplex mode- not available" warning.

  • levski Feb 22, 2008

This is ok, but why i can copy a sheet two sides directly on the machine and can't print two side pages from the computer?
    Thanks a lot

What driver did you download? The PS driver is much less capable and I am wondering if thats what you downloaded.
I am using the PCL driver and the selections are 1 sided, 2 sided long edge , 2 sided short edge.
Unless you are runnung CAD, you really should be running a PCL driver.
Maybe I am misunderstand what you are telling me also.
If you have the PCL driver and thats still a problem let me know and I will forward all I can find.

Here is an additional thought. Configure your machine,

Here is how to do that to confirm that your machine configuration is correct on your computer.

From the printers and faxes folder, right click on the 123 or 128 machine and select properties. Select the tab labeled printer. This will bring up the list of options. You need to select available for all options that are installed on the copier. This needs to be done on each computer that has the driver loaded.

  • Rick Kasper Feb 22, 2008

Let my go look at another computer where that drive is installed. Ba back in a few

  • Rick Kasper Feb 22, 2008

Those 2 options are the corect options. What they mean how the duplex page prints.

One selection puts the top of side one and side two on the same side. Both tops will be at the top of the page. The other selection will flip the page so that the top of side one and side two will be on the opposide sides, so that when you flip the original from top to bottom you can view it that way. That is for government work.

What you are seeing is correct, the choices you have orient whether you flip the copy side to side or top to bottom to read.

Try both modes and see how it comes out. As I view your driver those seletions are proper, they are both duplex modes, just different orientations for side 2.

  • Rick Kasper Feb 22, 2008

If you are getting the duplex mode not available, you have to reconfigure the driver. Easiest way to do that is to go into your browser. IE Ineternet explorer and enter the machine IP address then verify the machine configuration. You want just update the configuration.

  • Rick Kasper Feb 22, 2008

You want to just click update configuration and let the machine be read and set up correctly, Every time you relaod a driver it needs to be reconfigured to be 100 percent sure all is going to work properly.

Card Stock will not print

1-try both sides of the card stock
2-try the manual by-pass and see it that works
if it works then there could be a problem witht the main board
when you change the setting it changes :the temperature, the pressure on the rollers, and a few other thins, because of the wieght of the paper.
