Question about Bissell Carpet Cleaner Powerbrush Deep Cleaner Vacuum

Neither the water or the formula is dispensing.

    Screen in the bottom of the fill tank not clogged & I unscrewed the jets & they are not clogged. I only have the hose that connects to the tool brush so are we talking about the same steam cleaner? It's still not working. I unscrewed the plastic on the front of the cleaner to clean out the dog hair and that's when the trouble begin.

Either your screen in the bottom of the fill tank is clogged, or the jets that spray are clogged and need to be unscrewed and poke a needle or paperclip through them. If you want to check the hoses, only remove one at a time so they don't get mixed up and blow real hard through them.

    There should be hoses that go from the jets to the pump and pump to the fill tank. The clog is somewhere in that system, unless the pump is not working at all.

The cleaning solution does not dispense

There are a number of reasons why your unit doesn't spray water. It could be that the !) water tank is empty which you can fill heavy duty bladder with hot tap water. 2) If Formula tank is empty, you can fill it with Bissell 2x formula for cleaning. 3) If tank may not be seated properly, turn the power off, remove and reseat the tank. 4) If pump may have lost prime, try to turn off and then turn on the unit, wait for one minute and depress trigger. If still nothing happens, I suggest you contact Bissell 1-800-237-7691 for further assistance.

No cleaning formula or water is coming out of the dispenser. Any suggestions.


Just a thought, did you fill the dispenser or just the bladder inside the dispenser with water? The bladder inside is filled with water through the hole on the left side of tank. The waste water then goes in the tank around the bladder, a 2 in 1 deal.

Please check the following with liquid in both tanks.


- Check to see if the machine will spray through the hose with the setting on tools. If it does, the pump is fine. Continue troubleshooting.

- Check for debris on spray tips. Clean them with a soft brush (on old tooth brush works well). The spray tips may be lifted out for easier access.

- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. Hook the front window onto the lip of the bottom container and then allow the window with lid to cover the complete tank. Secure the latch on the back of the bottom tank to the back of the tank lid. THE TANK LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE BOTTOM TANK IS ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE MACHINE.
- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly. Depress the x on this gasket to ensure this depresses and release back out. Liquid from the tank should dispense.

- Remove the handle completely and re-attach. Once the handle is re-attached, re-attempt to spray.


If the machine continues to not spray, check the following:


REMOVE THE COLLECTION TANK:
• Make sure the unit is set to water rinse
• Remove the smart mix bottle and fill it with water only
• Place the smart mix bottle into the collection tank reservoir
• Run the unit and try to spray. If the machine sprays, you will be able to see the water level decreasing in the smart mix bottle and you will need to replace the bottom tank. It is possibly warped.

Formula dispenses too fast. I only cleaned an area 3x10 and the formula tank was empty.

We cannot get the water and soap to dispense in out Bissell steamcleaner


Check to ensure there is liquid in the water tank and the formula bottle.
Note: This machine will spray with liquid in the Water tank only if the machine is set to the Water Rinse setting. On any other setting, you need to have liquid in the formula tank as well.

If no: add liquid to the Water tank and the Formula tank.
If yes: check each of the following....

- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly.
- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. Hook the front window onto the lip of the bottom container and then allow the window with lid to cover the complete tank. Secure the latch on the back of the bottom tank to the back of the tank lid. -If everything is seated and attached properly, prime the machine by turning off the power, waiting one minute, and then turning the power back on and depressing the trigger on the handle.
- If priming the unit fails to fix the problem, remove the handle completely and re-attach. Once the handle is re-attached, re-attempt to spray.
If the machine continues to not spray, check the following:

• Make sure the unit is set to water rinse
• Remove the smart mix bottle and fill it with water only

Is the mechanism the dispenses the formula working? The pump could be broken.

I assume that it is spraying water? Is the smart mix knob turning freely from one point to the end? If not then there is a problem with the smart mix asm. With liquid in the soap bottle, push the valve in to see if liquid comes out ok, couild be that the valve is bad. Is the seal on the valve at the bottom of the bottle, it has to be on that and not just sitting in the hole. You might try running a mix of water and vinegar thru it, maybe it is clogged up.

Pretreating (optional)
Note: Pretreating is recommended to improve
cleaning effectiveness for heavily soiled carpet in
high traffic areas such as entryways and hallways.
A.
Spray the BISSELL Tough Stain Pre-treat formula
onto heavy traffic areas, soiled areas, or stains.
B. Allow to penetrate for at least 3 minutes.

Maybe isn't su[pposed to dispense water, just the Pre-Treat solution. Then after a few minutes, shampoo normally.
