Question about Sony PS-LX250H Turntable
I think the platter on these is an "interference fit" it is just dropped on the spindle and sits there by virtue of a taper..Take the mat off, put your fingers under the platter rim and hold like a steering wheel and try to prise it up, but don't force or pull unevenly it might come off , if not ..... Whilst you still have it under tension get someone to lightly tap the centre spindle with a hard( non metallic) object ( I use a screwdriver handle) and that will free it.. Once off, place new belt on the inner rim ( it should stay there!) and replace platter on the spindle... Reach though one of the holes in the aluminium platter , grap the belt and stetch it over the motor pulley making sure it sn't twisted or fouling any guides or screws.. Spin the platter to make sure there are not rubbing noises... Replace the mat... You are done..
