Netgear router DN2200/wireless problems.

that really shouldn't hurt it unless it included a pretty nasty fall as he tripped over the cord.

are you certain it still has the correct power cord? i've seen people accidently switch the modem power cord and the router power cord and the router tends to not like that.

good luck

Linksys E2000 keeps disconnecting

Disconnect the power from the linksys for about 30 seconds then plug it back and see if it stops dropping. Most times the dropping occurs if you turn the modem and router off at night then when you turn them back on the router boots up faster than the modem and that will cause it to drop. Power outages also will cause the problem if the router boots up before the modem.

If unplugging the router and waiting 30 seconds does not solve it then unplug both the modem and the router. Then plug the modem back in and let it boot up for a minute or two, then plug the router in and let it boot up.

Internet connection lost every 30 minutes

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

WRT120N---I keep having to disconnect my linksys, unplug all 3 wires on the back of the router, wait 30 sec...reconnect the router...try to get online...when it works then reconnect the linksys....what am...

Please disconnect and internet link and try to access the the Linsys WRT100 management page and see the logs why the router is loosing the connection. If you dont get anything then it might be some issue on the device. A reset may solve your issue.

Please be aware the if u reset the wireless Router you will loose all your configuration and you have to reconfigure the wireless Router.

Please press the tiny black button at the back/beneath of the wireless Router and keep pressing for 2 minutes. The sys light will start blinking slowly and then rapidly. then release the button and wait for 2 minutes for the device to boot up with factory default settings.

Once you are done you can connect to 192.168.1.1 ip address and it will open the your Linksys Router management web page where you can reconfigure your wireless router again.

Hope this will fix the issue.

Best Regards

Constantly disconnects from internet and have to reset it every fiew minutes

This is a common problem. There are two ways on how to fix this. First, update the firmware of your router. You can download the firmware from D-Link http://www.dlink.com/support/

Before you install the router's firmware, you must do a hard reset. Press the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power for another 30 seconds before you plug it back in.
Access the router's admin page through http://192.168.0.1 and look for firmware update settings.
After successfully updating the firmware, you must do a hard reset again. Reset for 30 seconds then power cycle it.

If you are just referring to wireless connection that keeps on disconnecting, you'll just need to change the wireless channel on the router's admin page. Access the router's admin page through http://192.168.0.1 and look for wireless tab, change the channel to 11 and save the settings. If you have cordless phone you need to relocate its base away from the router.

Contact your ISP if none of the solutions work. Good luck and have a nice day!

Constantly losing connection

A wireless router if set at enable DHCP will always asign an IP address to each pc, and keep it, it will not alter until the next time your connected, and even if the first pc that you connected with, first next time, it will get the same ip address allocation. The solution may be that your router is set to disconnect from the internet after a period of innactivity. Go into router settings and look for something similair to (Idle connection-Never).
