Question about Nintendo Professor Layton & the Curious Village Games for DS
I am in Chapter 5 of Professor Layton and the Curious Village. When I go to the market, the man at the market says something about having a vase for me. Then the bottom screen goes black and does not come back, and I have to restart the game. This happens every time I go to the market; it does not matter which route I take. What can I do?
There is no fix for this type of problem on a DS
If you obtained a "second hand" copy of the game (particularly from some place like eBay), then you could well have a pirated copy of the game (which are known to have problems just like this one due to faulty game data)
These "black screens" are usually caused by corrupt cut scene data that causes the scene (such as the one that should appear where you get the vase) not to play
As the cut scene doesn't play and you can't skip the cut scene in the Curious Village, you're basically stuck
If you purchased the game from a store, take if back for a replacement (possibly after testing it on another DS just to make sure)
