I have the same refrigerator i took form my Aunts house. What you need to do is remove the cover and unplug it first, then remove the doors to help with the weight. I then used my car hack and some 2x4s to lift the unit only about 1" it is suspended by a metal bar near the top it takes two people to let it down.

Is it in working order and what color is it?

I have this same fridge, and love it, but it looks like it may have a leak, not cooling in the ref. compartment, but is cooling in the freezer- and the compressor is working. Any idea on a qualified repair person in the Detroit area? Thanks, Jeff Belvair@hotmail.com

check the damper assy in the upper left corner of the refrige compartment you need to remove all the plastic parts on the roof and back walls to access this part there are 2 possibilities either the fan inside this assy quit or there is a door inside here that opens and closes to throttle cold air in from the freezer compartment,a lot of times this doors mounting breaks from cold and can stick shut or wherever position it breaks in,remove it and then run the diagnostics and watch this door for operation as you enter the diagnostics, also make sure the fan in there works also,if both of these work ok then you could have a thermistor problem in one or more of the thermistors mounted in the left and right side walls midway up behind oval plastic grilles

It sounds like the damper assembly might have failed or be stuck open. The damper is mounted in the left side upper rear corner of the refrigerator section. The damper controls the amount of cold air that comes into the refrigerator section from the freezer.

If you want to repair the refrigerator yourself you should disconnect the power to the refrigerator and remove the 2 screws holding the damper cover to the center wall. Sometimes you can spray the damper with WD40 and free it up.

Where is the defrost timer on a ge gsh 25kgbb

Good day,
There is no ordinary defrost timer on your machine.
The defrost cycles are performed by an electronic board mounted on the rear of the machine (under a cover) and are controlled by thermistors mounted in the freezer compartment behind the rear wall panel.

OK first defrost the refrigerator. Unplug and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and lets look at the defrost element and defrost thermostat. If they are OK we may need to have a look at mother board mounted on back of fridg. Let me know when you are ready, Sea Breeze
