Question about RCA Televison & Video

2 Answers

I can't turn it on. I press the on/off switch but nothing happens. The only way we can get the green light on is to unplug the electrical source and then plug it back in. The green light comes on briefly and then the red light starts blinking with 5 quick blinks. Then it pauses for a couple of seconds and blinks 5 quick blinks again. This pattern is repeated over and over again.

Sometimes if we keep unplugging and replugging, and quickly press TV input and put it on channel 03, we can get it to stay on. As long as we don't turn it off, it works great. Today, however, we can not get it to stay on with this crazy combination.

I think you have a ADC that went bad and needs to be checked out. You need to have a service adjustment done by your Service Tech. You just can't fix the ADC without clearing the buffers, and all the other procedures needed to fix this TV. I think your TV repair persons are probably just going over the complex procedures to fix your TV.

Good luck and have a great day!

You power supply/high-voltage transformer is shot. It is VERY common especially in the newer electronics of today due to cheaper parts they use. You can solder off the old one and go to shopjimmy.com or partstore.com or tigerdirect.com and order a new one and have it soldered in.
There is only enough power to light up the little light but nothing else. I have had to replace so so many of these the last couple years.

That would be the power supply/high voltage transformer.
If you'd like, you can try to bypass the power switch with a jumper wire to see if the switch is bad, but most likely the supply/transformer.

Why won't my Roomba start when I press a green "clean" button?

Bad PC board. Throw it away. Robot vacs are nothing more than novelties ( expensive toys ) They may do what you want them to do at first but they never last very long and other than brush replacements they are not repairable. If it is within the warranty period you can get a replacement with that.

It sounds like the CPU is over heating. It probably has poor ventilation. Unplug the unit and open the side panel. Carefully vacuum all the dust inside. Be careful not to damage any electronics. You can use a small brush to loosen the dust before vacuuming. Good luck!

Most likely your laptop is going into sleep mode. Lots of them do not like sleep mode if nothing happens when you push the power button try to hold it down for about 5 sec. your computer should power off and then you can start as normal. If this problem persists change the options in your control panel to turn sleep mode off. That should solve it.
