H20 gps says waiting for nmea gps serial data

Your GPS is looking for an alternative source of NMEA data and is no longer doing it itself. If it doesn't get that data it will continue to look or wait for it. We can disable this function so the GPS relies solely on the data it is receiving through its own antanae. This function can only be changed while in Advanced mode. If you're not running in advanced mode make sure you switch to advanced mode. Once there, go to your Main Menu (from map screen, hit menu twice). In that menu, go and select SYSTEM SETUP. In your System Setup menu you will see an opition, COM PORT. Select COM PORT and hit Enter. You will see three Check boxes (NMEA INPUT, NMEA GPS INPUT, NMEA OUTPUT). Make sure that none of those are checked. Once you are done, you can EXIT out of the menus. Go out and see if you can acquire a Satellite Fix.

Dropped keyboard. Now display on monitor says 1. Analog input in power save mode - press any key or move mouse to turn on. I have done both, neither works. I have turned off system and I see it rebooting...

Hello,

the message Analog input in power save mode means that your monitor is not getting a signal from your computer.

Maybe you moved the video cable while reconnecting your keyboard? check both ends of your video cable.

If you have a DVI cable, then your monitor has to be switched to digial input.

I hope this helps.

When i press the power button to turn off monitor, i get a power button lockout message. how do i unlock the power button

I did not see anything regarding to the Power locked out function, may be it's time to call HP. Please post back what you find out from HP.
I look at HP WEBSITE: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01632269&tmp_track_link=ot_recdoc/c01643091/en_us/c01632269/loc:1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3770762

Locking OSD settings
When the OSD is locked, settings cannot be changed in the OSD menu. The OSD functionality is enabled or disabled by pressing the Menu button and holding it for 10 seconds. Upon disabling the OSD, an OSD Lock-out message is displayed for 10 seconds. When the OSD is locked and an OSD menu button is pressed, the OSD Lock-out message is displayed for an additional 10 seconds. When the OSD is locked, pressing the OSD menu button for 10 seconds unlocks the OSD and displays the main menu. Identifying monitor conditions
Special messages display on the monitor screen for the following monitor conditions:
  • Input Signal Out of Range : Indicates the monitor does not support the input signal because the resolution and/or refresh rate are set higher than the monitor supports. Recommended refresh rates are as follows:
    • For the w1858 monitor: 1366 x 768 @ 60 Hz.
    • For the w2338h monitor: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz.
  • Monitor Going to Sleep : Indicates the screen display is entering a sleep mode.
  • Check Video Cable : Indicates a video input cable is not properly connected to the computer or monitor.
  • OSD Lock-out : When the OSD is locked, the warning message OSD Lock displays for 10 seconds.
  • No Input Signal : Indicates the monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer on the monitor video input connector. Check whether the computer or input signal source is off or in the power-save mode.
  • Auto Adjustment in Progress : Indicates the auto-adjustment function is active and in process.

Hi I have Innovatek 731 GPS and GPS-18 unit comes with them /When I go on Gps mode I have a message "No video signal" All connections are perfect/Is this something wrong with GPS box ore softwear?

first thing I would do is update the software. You can get it from manufacture's website. Also shake the cables a bit to see if the are stretched or broken internally. If update doesn't help, then it is likely a faulty capacitor inside the unit.

I have a blank screen on my HPf1905 monitor. I have a HPm7330n computer. How do I know if its the monitor or the video card? Monitor shows a message no input signal, then goes to sleep mode.

if the message you recieve is no input signal if only means that you have a problem with your video card, the monitor is fine but you need to have your video card check

NMEA communication does not work ( but file transfer is OK)

Try rebooting windows, with gps off connect the cable to gps.

Go out side get a good gps signals on nav menu.

Set the gps communications menu to , nmea, 2.1

Plug the device into a good usb port.

If you look under modems, in control panel you should see a new modem called explorist xxx

If you look at the properties for that you can see its com port number.

I just tried this program http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPS/

and it views nmea from the explorist, just set the com port to the one in the explorist modem .
