There should be 4 screws attached to the computer case. There should be two on either side of the case. Remove both side panels and remove all four screws.

The screws are in the same position on both sides of the drive.

Disconnect the power and data cables and slide the drive forward out of the case.

That should be all you need to do. Try forcing it a little from the inside.

Kind Regards

I have fitted the cd player into my car, the radio works and so does everything else, except when i go to play a cd, it is coming up with CD ERROR, why would this be?

Just for a possibility. Sometimes CD players come with a little plug that keeps everything in place during shipping. If you fail to remove the plug, your CD players reader arm cannot move, thus an error. Also, if you use screws on the sides of the radio for mounting brackets and the screws are too long, it may bind the motor. Some CD players come with a reset button, if so, push it. This might clear the error. Hope this helps.

Removing a CD player from a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage?

Don't know how much this will help, but some factory radios have a tool that is shaped like a big staple and there is 2 of them. If you see 2 small round holes on the sides of your factory cd player, then thats where these tools go. I have seen them at Wal-Mart and at Autozone. I have mainly seen these on Ford cars, so I'm not sure about a Mirage. Hope it helps.

I need to remove the CD player.

There's only one screw but it's well hidden
1. At the back of the laptop remove the three screws on the support posts for the screen
2. Open the laptop fully and lift the plastic panel that has the power button.
3. Remove the 2 screws holding the keyboard in place
4. Carefully slide the keyboard towards the monitor and lift.
5. To the left of the keyboard ribbon cable is the screw for cd drive
6. Remove, slide out optical drive, reassemble.

any further help let me know

My cd player makes a funny noise and does not play cd it keeps saying error and reset

take the cd player out of the dash. remove the metal casing from around the unit (load of small screws. Inside the cd mechanism, more to the side, there is a small gear...this can slip off the other gear that drives the cd. just push it back on. I then secured mine in place using a bit of tape...just be careful not to stick it to moving parts. works fine everytime now.

How to remove the faceplate on a Cambridge CD 740 clock radio

I just did this over the weekend, so, I'll expand on how to get there.

1. Pop off the speaker covers.
2. There are 4 screws on each side (not the speaker screws, the recessed screws). Remove those from each side.
3. On the back of the unit, there are 4 more recessed screws. You'll need to remove those, and separate the back from the unit (you may have to disconnect some of the wire connectors).
4. Flip the unit over (so the bottom is up). Remove the screws from the bottom, and remove that base. Note: you'll need to remove all the foot-pads as well (there is a screw under each).
5. Once you've removed that, you'll need to then remove the next set of screws from the "sub bottom" I believe there were 8 that need to be removed.
6. Carefully flip the unit over (you can put the "base" back on without the screws so it sits right).
7. At this point, you'll need to remove the top cover. You'll have to pry away at this one a bit, but it wasn't too hard. There is a connector for the snooze/mute button that I disconnected to make it easier once the cover was open.
8. Once the top cover is off, you'll see the CD player. There are two screws holding the CD player to the faceplate. Remove those.
9. There are three screws on the back of the cd player. Remove those, and you can maneuver the CD player at that point (I didn't need to take mine all the way out, as I just needed to get a quarter out of the player).

Then... gently reassemble. This is not an easy machine to tear apart by any means. Took me about an hour and a half to do it all (but I was also doing some trial and error).

Good luck! And be careful!

6 disk CD changer is broken!

Hello, I just removed the 6-disc player from my 2001 Trooper. To remove it: 1) Remove the two screws above the radio area in the black faceplate 2) Remove the one screw located between the ash tray and the lighter. 3) Remove the four screws (two on each side) from the front center console cover and pull it back (you will need to shift into 2 or L) 4) Pop the black face plate off (there are some metal brackets holding it on that need some light force to pull out. Nothing should break) 5) There are two screws for the CD player and two screws for the radio. Unscrewing them will allow you to pull out the radio and disconnect the smaller CD wiring harness, then you can pull out the CD player.
When I unscrewed the CD player unit, I found that there are six plastic halos that hold each disc and move them up and down as selected. These had broken in some places and the discs had dropped to the bottom and stacked, so nothing could move...hence the clicking sound. Because there was a severe jam, nothing else could be loaded either...hence the error message. I'm attempting to superglue the pieces back together to see if I can reset it. Otherwise, I'd recommend you replace the unit (most likely what I'll do).
Hope this helps!
