Once you unplugged the HDMI cable and then plugged the component cables back in and powered it on, it should have reset for you. Make sure then after you've unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged in the component cables again, that you've powered the machine off with the switch in the back. Leave it off for about 10 seconds, the power it on, see what happens, it should come up in just a basic video mode, showing 480i.

Good luck and have a great day!

When i close the system configuration box my pc shuts down, why??

When closing the System Configuration, if any modifications were made, it asks you if want to "Restart" or "Exit without Restart" and there is a checkbox that says "Do not show this message again".
I guess you put a tick in that box and the clicked Restart.
And now everytime you exit if after making changes, it always remembers you choice of "Restart".
To get that option back, try this

Restarting problem

Looks something wrong installed with drivers or some hardware changes.

You can try restarting the system in safe mode that can help you understand whether this one is due to new software/driver installed

If unaware of the recent changes, you can restart the system and press F8 to wait for menu where you can select "Last Known Good Configuration" and hit enter to execute you choice. This might work for you.

If nothing helps you can try repairing your system using winxp CD. Refer to the link below

Help my hp dv2000 just keeps restarting??

Hi,

As the computer is working in safe mode, it is clear that operating system files are corrupt.

Perform a repair installation, if it is Windows XP.

For Vista or Windows 7, you can perform system restore from recovery console. To launch recovery console, insert the disc- restart the computer and boot into the disc. Choose repair in the options tab, then choose system restore from the list.

Pc restarts automatically and unexpectedly

Good Evening Sunnyseber :

Hope that you are wellJ
You did not indicate the type of Operating System.
This document pertains to HP and Compaq computers with Windows Vista. If Windows Vista suddenly starts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it may be because your operating system is set to automatically restart when certain system errors occur. This feature of the Windows Vista operating system can be disabled. Use the information below to disable the Automatically Restart option. NOTE: In addition to the steps in this article, updating video card drivers is known to resolve many of the problems that can cause the computer to restart. Step 1: Disabling Automatically restart option to view error messages You can prevent the computer from restarting by turning off the Automatically Restart option:
  1. Click Start c00971562.gif .
  2. Right-click Computer , and click Properties
  3. Click Advanced system settings .
  4. Click the Advanced tab and select Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
  5. Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart under System Failure .
  6. Click OK to close the Startup and Recovery window and click OK , again, and then close the System Properties window.
  7. Restart the computer. NOTE: The computer will no longer restart automatically when a problem occurs. Instead a blue screen appears with more useful information. You can now search for a resolution using the text from the error.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember, always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful evening.
