Question about HP Pavilion N5495 Notebook

1 Answer

I am trying to do a system restore on an HP Pavilion n5495. I have tried F11 and this does not work. I do not have a recovery disc. Is there a way to do a system restore without going into Windows?

You need to do a backup first
With windows you can just do it through system tools (under accesories).

You can avoid doing it through GUI by using command line but it's still going through windows.

When you restart your PC you can open the POST window by pressing the key shown on screen (usually F11 or DEL) and start windows in safe mode. Thats if your having problems with accessing data

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Use the sections in this document to obtain a recovery solution that works best for you.

Unable to factory restore Hp pavilion dv2910US

    Hello
hit the f11 key repeatedly during boot
this should bring a hp restore wizard.

If not you will either have to purchase a disk matching your operating system, if you need one let me know.

Or if you want to knife and fork and hope it works then you can download one of the internet.

If you are simply trying to restore the computer to factory install, you may not need the recovery discs.
If you have suffered a hard drive failure, then there are a couple of options on their website, just ensure you have the exact model number of the computer.

Hi, my onboard webcam does not function, does any body know what to do?

If your system is a HP DV9000 and you're running vista as the operating system, it's no wonder. Vista is a Microsoft nightmare. It loses almost everything at some time or another. You can try doing a system restore to a point in time when you knew things were working correctly. System Restore does not destroy your data, documents, music, pictures or videos. System Recovery loses everything. Try system restore first. Then if it does not solve the problem you can try clicking Start/Programs and look for hp's eRecovery and run it. It might be under Programs as a stand alone or it might be under some other hp process. if you can't find it usually you can boot your machine and hit a function key F11 to start System Recovery.

How to fully restore factory setting on hp pavilion i bough from cash converters and forgot user password

For most HP computers you will see during boot up F10 or F11 for recovery, press which ever key it states and do a destructive recovery this will restore it to defaults. If it does not have the option for recovery you will need to contact HP and order a set of recovery discs.

try going into safe mode F5. reboot and keep tapping F5 if you can get into safe mode try a system restore back to the time it was working. if not reload from recovery drive (F11 i think) or from recovery disc.
    hope this helps.

Press F11 at system startup to get to the NEC recovery menu. From there, you can restore your factory settings. However, a "destructive" recovery will wipe the hard drive, including your personal files. Best to back those up first before performing the recovery.

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)
