Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional for PC
I have just bought a new computer from comet, and getting know where fast with it, trying to enter my product key number to activate my transfered files from my old computer, when entering the number that is on the side of the computer ( 25 digs as stated) it says it not valid, every where i turn for help (including Comet stores) can't help me and its driving me mad, and can't understand that when my first computer was purchased i never had any of this to do everything was there already installed on it. Please please can you help >>
First, when the operating system was installed, the product key was installed.
To activate windows, you click activate and it should not ask for the key.
If it is only asking because to are trying to transfer files, then don't transfer them, copy then to a disk or a memory drive, flash drive and transfer them.
If the pc is activated, --you bought it new, and activated it, just because
you are trying to transfer ,it should not ask, something is wrong,
maybe the old computer has a hacked version of windows and the new windows will see this.
