and how many screws it takes to reach it ,pulled

Theoretically yes, since it has vista drivers. Practically, if you can't find compatible drivers from another hp laptops with the same hardware, no.

Go to www.hp.com look down the page you will see "Customer Support", under it you will see "Software & Driver downloads", click it. On the next page, you will see a space to enter your product model (compaq presario A900), click next, on the next page, you will confirm you laptop model, on the next page click the operating system your laptop is using (Vista, XP, etc). The page that comes out next is where you will find all the drivers for your Laptop. Under Audio driver, you will find what you are looking for, just simply download.

insert xp cd installer reboot hold the key delete goto boot sequence 1st boot cd rom and save

Go to hp.com,select support and drivers.Select download drivers and software.Enter product name(presario a900),click go then choose product from list.Choose system(vista )Choose audio driver listed to download.

What was your coworker doing on it? I would say you need to at least do a disk check. You can do this through windows repair console or in Vista you can boot to the disk and have it check boot up problems. Very easy.

what specific a900 model is it there should be like 2 letters at the end. Then I will surely get you access to those drivers.
