Either your battery is virtually dead or your laptop cable is damaged or broken. It is common to find the cable broken at one end, mostly the end that connects to the laptop if you are fond placing the laptop on a bed.

If the above is not the problem, it could be the motherboard. This can be replaced by the manufacturer at no extra cost if it is less than 3yrs old. Get on to the manufacturer's website and speak to their support team.

Till next time, take care of your laptop.

Inspiron Battery Light Flashing Orange

Battery.

Dell has a chip internal to the battery programed to shut down after a certain number of charge cycles. This means every time you plug the laptop in with the battery installed. When it reaches this determined number the battery effectively shuts down, even though technically it's still good. There have been loads of complaints on the net toward Dell over this issue. I have myself experience this. Battery good one day, powered down, went home, powered up... only to receive the deadly flashing light. Only cure is to replace battery. Several hacks trying to get around this but they're all horrible. Bad Dell - bad, bad Dell!

Laptop shuts off after 15 minutes, even when plugged into wall outlet. fan runs quieter than normal

Most likely the system is going into standby or hibernating.

Check the Control Panel for Power Options, And adjust these accordingly.

If it is a Dell system, you may want to check your QuickSet options as well for these will often take precedence over your OS settings.

Computer shut down

The sparking has probably caused your circuit protection inside the AC adapter to turn off the current.
Also, when you are plugging an adapter in,,do not have it plugged into the wall power outlet when plugging into the laptop,,,plug into the laptop first and then plug into the wall.

Laptop not being powered on

Did you get the battery checked? OR maybe it's an issue with the PowerJack connector on the motherboard...have it checked ASAP.... Also take out the battery and plug straight from the wall jack using the Adapter to ckeck if power is coming.
