Question about Mitsubishi WD-52528 52" Television

TV will not come on. I pull out the power plug

Mitsubishi Model WD-52528. TV will not come on. I pull out the power plug and when I plug back in the green light (timer light) blinks rapidly for about a minute and goes off. About a minute later it repeats same thing over and over as long as TV remains plugged in but it never allows me to turn on the TV. I've tried the reset button many times still will not come on. Trouble started when I replaced the projection lamp.

Could I have "blown" this power source by doing something wrong when replacing the lamp? It seemed like a very easy procedure. When I put in the replacement I may not have pushed in far enough to make the power connection so I put the old one back in and the screen came back on as before but the TV had lost all of initial settings. I just made a few random slections on the menu because I didn't want to take the time for the detailed setup. It was after that that I could never get the TV back on even with the old lamp. Did I do something that could have effected the way the TV "boots up" as with a computer programmed to read the hard drive first?

Cannot get to the service menu because the power will not come on.

Tried resetting the TV with your suggestion about holding in the power button for 5 seconds and plugging back in after a half hour. Same results..power will not come on. I've tried another bulb. No good. I guess I'll have to call the service man to get his assesment. You mentioned the possiblity of blowing a fuse..so there is a fuse inside?? Would it be worth me trying to remove case to try to change it?

Sounds like you've covered the most likely problems.

Your power supply aka high-voltage transformer is shot. Very Very common in mitsubishi tv's. They seem to have the most problems.
You can possibly order one from tigerdirect.com or partstore.com or shopjimmy.com
It will have to be difused with a difuser to draw out any remaining power left in the supply/transformer, then it will have to be soldered off and the new soldered on.
It is common because parts are made cheaper and quicker now days. Have had to replace many of these lately.

The tv's don't have any hard drives or anything like that. No optional bootup options. The bulb may not have been full inserted and could have burnt out the ballast or blown a fuse. I recommend replacing the bulb with new bulb. Then reset the lamp counter hours:
This all probably comes a couple years too late, but when you
install a new lamp, you’ll want to reset the hours on the counter your
television has. Doing this will allow you to avoid getting any
messages about the lamp needing to be replaced despite you having a new
    lamp inside your set.

If you need to get into the service menu, you can do so by following these directions:

With power on, hold down VOL minus button on projection display and
hold down the PIP or SPLIT button (try both) on the remote
simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
This should set the lamp hours counter to 0:00
If you need to reset the tv, unplug the tv and and when it is unplugged, you MUST press and hold power button for 5 full seconds to drain out any remaining power, then wait half hour and plug back in.

Yes I would remove the rear panel. If you do have a fuse in this model, it would be next to the power supply/high-voltage transformer (the box that the power cord attaches to) this supply/transformer VERY commonly goes bad in todays newer electronics.
