Tony Hawk Ride skateboard controller disconnected

We are trying to play the Tony Hawk Ride game for Wii. It keeps giving us an alert that says the skateboard controller is disconnected; everything is connected, we changed the batteries in the skateboard and the alert keeps coming up. All light are blinking and all. Is there anything to do about this?

SOURCE: cant turn off tony hawk ride skateboard for wii

From Activision website: Disconnect the wireless dongle from the usb port on the back of your Wii. After about 15 seconds the board should turn off and no lights should be illuminated.

I am unable to calibrate our wii tony hawk board

I had the same problem. I turned the WII so the dongle/sensor that comes with the game is facing the skateboard with a clear line of sight between the dongle/sensor and skateboard. Now it's able to calibrate. Hope this works for you.
