Question about Philips 32PF7320A 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Philips 32PF7320: The main menu comes on by itself. Getting worse. Currently comes on a few seconds after being turned off - for the 100th time. Forced reboot does no good.

Hi.

If the rest of the functions are not affected, then it is probably the IR receiver. First try removing batteries from remote, and ensure no other IR devices are around. Here the part 932220716667.

If the TV is also freezing when the menu is popping up, then it is probably a faulty controller board.

There are four different Philips 32PF7320 versions, ensure with the seller that the part is compatible with your model. I think the IR boards for this models are all the same.

Parts also here.

To get a technician, or to check your warranty status, call Philips at the number listed on the user manual.

Regards.

LCD TV backlight goes off but still sound is present. Sometime it happen within few minutes and sometime take 30 minutes plus. Is that inverter Problem or CCFL? how I can rectify?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Will not start when cold.

sounds like you have a weak power board, it could be a simple fix, its mostly to be weak capacitors, that will need replacing, you need to identify the faulty ones on the power board any that are rounded topped i.e not flat when looking from the side of them, they will need replacing with the same value i.e if they 16v 33uf then replace them with the same, also if the temp is on the 85c or 100c it dont matter but its best to replace them with 100c as they can handle more heat, as power board can get hot and over time the weak temp capacitors wear out due to the heat.

Having problems turning on 2 year old Phillips

Philips TVs tend to have issues with bad capacitors in their power supplies. Failing capacitors tend to have slightly different ESR (equivalent series resistance) values when they have been left off, versus after they are warmed up and charged up. Either a new power supply board or replacement of the faulty capacitors will fix the problem.
