Put the belt around the drum with the ribs on the drum, put the drum in and make sure the felt on the back is tucked in so you don't see the edge of the felt, now pull the belt under the pulley with both sides of belt touching and then put the belt onto the motor shaft pulley, gab your pants belt near the end between your fingers, you'll see the belt touching and a loop on the end, your fingers are like the pulley and the loop is the part you stick on the motor shaft, that's how it looks when it's connected.it's hard to tell you because i don't think about it when i do it,i just put the belt on ha,hope this helps

Roper dryer res7648kq0, replaced heat element, thermal fuse, cycling thrm, thermal kit, checked outlet, circuit breaker, still not heat, will not advance on AUTO, but will on timed cycle. Now what?

Wow.
In electric dryers with an AUTO cycle; the heater runs on 220 volts, but the timer motor runs on 110 volts. There is a resistor in the system to cut down the voltage. If the resistor is bad, you will see the same symptoms as if a thermostat was bad. The timer motor will not run in the automatic cycle. You need to make sure that you test for continuity in the resistor.
I've looked at two parts diagrams for your washer and cannot find a sensor anywhere in either, so the thermostat is what tells the timer to advance once the dryer reaches a preset temperature.
The thermostat will only tell the timer to advance if the dryer reaches the proper temperature, if you have some clogging in the vents, the dryer may never reach the proper temperature, and thus not advance on the auto cycle. but i'm sure you've probably checked that. I'm baffled. Let me know how it pans out if you can. Thanks. I'm still trying to find a wiring diagram for that model.

thanks,

Mike

I have a whirpool front load dryer and I cart seem to get the belt through the pulleys any tips?

As the belt comes off the drum and you are going to hook it to the motor...be sure to fold the belt to make a loop and then pass it thru the idler pulley and then to the motor
Please rate me

Are you sure that you hooked the belt up correctly, as it sounds like you may have missed the tensioner pulley. As this will tighten the belt around the middle of the drum

My Whirlpool WED8300SW stop turning yesterday. Clothes got really hot. I ran the diagnostic and got the F26 error code (motor drive failure). It is just 1 year old (about 15 months actually). I am fairly...

The standard warranty on appliances is two years, contact Whirpool at (866) 698-2538 to check warranty status.

Regarding the motor, the motor is tested by energizing it directly, and reading volts from MCU (motor control unit) or timer control board.

Here diagrams and parts for your model.

Call Whirpool first.

I cant find my dryer model number online.

Go to appliancepartspros.com and type in your model number. Use the suggested model number they provide, which is the XMW0 suffix you have listed. The part numbers will be the same for these models. If you look under the "Cabinet" diagram at item number 56, it states in the part description that this belt replaces the 5 rib (wider) belt that you have and fits all Whirlpool models. The part number is AP2946843.

For a diagram on how to replace the belt, go to repairclinic.com and click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of the page. On the next page, is a link for "Dryer Belt Diagrams" under the "Special Features" section. Scroll down to Whirlpool and use diagram H. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

Whirlpool Dryer Model LER88620PW0

Go to repairclinic.com and click on the "Repair Help" link in the left column of the page. On the next page under the "Special Features" section there's a link entitled "Dryer Belt Diagrams". There are two diagrams listed under Whirpool (H and K). Since you stated that the tension pulley came loose in your dryer, I suspect you need to look at diagram "H". Diagram "K" has a tension spring and is fixed in place. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have questions.
